Tim's GTI. update thread, FOR SALE. NEW WINTERS PG 51
Re: Tim's GTI. update thread, INTERIOR SPRAYING DONE PG40
Sorry mate another quick question before I buy the fabric.
Will the sheet be big enough to cover the whole roof? Because I don't wanna have to make any joins?
Cheers
Whilst the linings off I may as well dynamat it. How long did it take to get the lining off, covered, dried, and put back on? I'm wonderig if its a job for the summer?
Thanks

When tape up the seals I meant tape up the rubber areas, as paint reacts funny to rubber, so I masked up everything apart from the cream bits I was planning to spray.
If you buy 3 lengths of that fabric you'll have enough to cover your roof in one, and trim all your pillars.
It took me a day to do all pillars and the roof. The roof is a 2-3 man job getting it perfect. You can strip everything out and drive around without it though if you don't have time.
I didn't have a roof lining for about month (I took everything out way before my I got the materials.

Hhhmmm puzzler. Asked my dad to check the milage on my car for me today, as I'm away at uni and want some info on the car.
It's clean and parked in my Nan's garage, but being a small garage it means it's tucked right up against the wall, driver's side.
Apparently my remote won't work, and being one of the cool kidsI don't have a lock on my passenger side! No boot access either.
I return home Sunday for a few days, it could be an interesting one!

Aye I'll figure something out hopefully! If/When I get it open I'll have to leave a window open so I don't fall into the same trap!

This picture was taken last year when I detailed it!
At present the driver's side mirror is folded and the car's tucked up a bit further to the wall for more access down the passenger side

Cheers.
Seals you just pull out carefully.
All pillar trims are the same, they just pop out. You can pop the covers off the seatbelts exposing a large bolt, undo that and your good to go.

Hiya mate,
I don't have a part number sorry no. I just bought it from eBay, there was a guy selling a few.
I got mine indicators from eBay also, brand called Deko IIRC? You wouldn't tell them from OEM units, apart from a logo print in the corner of them (it's very subtle). Hope this helps.
