Does your window up/down work with the key in the door barrel?
It was a long while back I attempted it - I can't remember what worked and what didnt.. I have to recover my old thread :D

Well if your window up/down works with the key in the door barrel (both n/s and o/s front doors) then the system is working. All the relay is doing is sending a signal to the unit to tell it to roll the windows up. You can't really get the wiring wrong if you've bought the right relay... it's crystal clear mate.

Recovered my old post :D
jacko7165 wrote:if you have total closure off the key then you will need to purchase a 4 pin relay to hook that up
when you have a relay connect it as follows
pins 86 & 87 of the relay connect to 12v+(this can be taken from the red/white at the pump
connect the green wire from your r click kit to pin 85 of the relay
connect pin 30 of the relay to the grey/red lock wire at the pump
lowfoon wrote:OK, have connected all pins but I have several issues

Instead of grey/red I have white/yellow but I have determined it is the lock wire.

The car opens fine but when it locks I get 6 'bong' sounds from the front of the car and several dashboard lights on but faded. Also the windows do not roll-up :?

When I remove pin 85 which is connected to the green wire of the Rclick unit, the central locking works as normal but still does not roll-up windows

Any help appreciated!

So putting the window roll up issue aside, are you saying that you can't lock the car from the remote?

6 bongs? what are they?..

When you connected the two yellow wires on the remote control unit itself, which red wire did you connect them to? I had a similar problem as I misinterpreted the instructions. You need to connect them both to the positive red wire to give it a 12v supply.

No forget the relay, you need to get the actual RCL kit working before you bother with the window rollup function.

Are you anywhere near Bradford, West Yorkshire? If so, I don't mind helping you out.

On a sidenote, I've just left my Polo key with a local key cutting place to have the blades cut and they've supplied and programmed a Philips TPH1 transponder. All being well, I'll have a pair of working flip keys later today :)

I have a RCL kit  Hence the reason why I'm trying to get the window rollup to work :D

I'm in London unfortunately

I'm not sure I even understand now. I thought the car doesn't lock with your RCL kit? If it doesn't then why even bother trying to get the window rollup to work lol

Anyways, I've been busy finishing off the install on my wife's Polo. Got both blades cut from a local place, and a new transponder supplied and programmed. For the second key, I cut out the old transponder from our single existing key.

I now have 2 working flip keys, and a spare master blade that can at least unlock the doors.

I'm quite impressed with the quality, they're not quite OEM but not bad for a universal key..

My RCL kit works fine.. When I put the relay in, then it doesn't lock and does the 'bong' business

I got all the stuff out the box and took the cl pump out of boot but don't have the balls to do it myself having never done anything electrical before. My mates dad is a sparky so hopefully if i ask nicely he'll do it for me. I didn't realise the key wouldn't work automatically, and like f9hard i also only have one key when I brought my polo so will need to get my keys cut and find two transponders. I live in the London area if anyone can help?

Installed my Rclick on Sunday, am so chuffed with the result! Everytime I approach my car now I feel happier knowing it was me who installed it... well I had a little help from my mates dad!

Next step in getting the keys cut and getting a transponder/immobilizer chip installed. Does anyone know a nationwide company that will do it? Or someone in London area?
