Headlight Protective Plastic Film
This arrived in the post the other day. have only just got around to putting it on today
After getting the new headlights I really wanted to try and keep them stone chip free
so i got some Paint protective film. its mainly used to put over the front bumper and bonnet to stop paint getting stone chipped.
Its like a Phone screen protectors
Before
After
Im pretty happy with it. From afar you cant see it at all. When you get up close you can see the edges. I was hoping to tuck the edges around the sides of the lights but this proved to hard so I had to trim it down.
And it doesnt at all effect the light beam which I was slightly worried about.
Putting it on is fairly simple, but does need patients.
Clean the area you are going to apply the plastic,
you then squirt on the Liquid Mixture supplied in the pack (water and baby jonsons shampoo) (you put this into a squirty bottle yourself)
then peel the plastic off the backing sheet and place on area
using the little black material card you smooth out all the air bubbles.
You have to stretch the plastic a bit to get it to fit any curves and using a hairdryer helps massivly
(if you can get it off your dog

)
Doing it on the lights was good as i turned the lights on which heated and stuck the one side, meaning when i pulled and heated the outer side with the hairdryer, it didnt slip around
I still need to trim the edges with a sharp knife along where I stretched the corner and is now slightly to long.
Ill do this in a day or so tho, when its completly stuck on
