can anyone tell me how difficult it is to fit front nearside wishbone arm to 05 polo

Not really that hard if you are only doing the wishbone and not the bushes, track rods or ball joints, only really a few bolts off and back on. What are you changing it for?

its a driving school car and unfortunately a pupil of mine oversteered a corner and bumped the kerb not really an enormous impact but ever since the nearside front end has been creeking and groaning when braking especially at low speeds ive been told its probably a bent wishbone as apparently this is a common problem

Wouldn't surprise me, they are pretty poorly constructed to say how important they are. I would recommend getting new ball joints and track rods as well though, as they could have been damage with the impact. Here are the part numbers I used for mine, an 03 TDi Sport:

You need to make sure that that the track rod arm is not also bent, these are pretty expensive but obviously will need changing if it is bent. The bottom number is the price I paid for my parts, I did get them quite cheap but gives you a rough estimate. I am not sure how many miles your car will have done, but being a learner car I would have thought a fair few, and I am not sure if you know about the wishbone console bushes. these are known for going as they have voids in the rubber that allow a lot of movement and tear, I recommend you change them for the following part:

These are not very expensive but make a massive difference to the feel of the car, and will also outlast the car, whereas some people have changed the normal bushes several times. If I were you I would change the track rods, ball joints and bushes on both sides, you won’t believe the difference!

You only need to look at the Console Bush part of the guide, not the one they guy cuts out of the wishbone itself.

If you really mean "Polo 6N" then the answer is no, if you are thinking about fitting Cupra wishbones (slightly shorter?) to "lesser" Polos or Ibizas, then maybe they will fit although one side will have a cut-out to accomodate the different gearbox. I think that a few people have found that the Cupra TCA is slightly shorter so will reduce negative camber after lowering - this is just "forum facts" not found from actual experience.
