Yeah still undecided on the lamin-x it's something I've been meaning to do but never got round to,

Slight update centre caps arrived today...

Flat mate says there good quality so I shall see when I'm home gonna get get them on later hopefully.

Also my friends going to see about that bolt for the tow strap then once that is fitted big red is taking a back seat as I have a mortgage now and want to start redecorating so gonna pile money in my house rather than my car, she will get the occasional mod here and there but progress will be a lot slower than it has been lately.

I don't think that will work as the originals are con vexed and not flat so may eventually pop off while driving :-/. Mboyle4 had these same ones and they said that these were the exact ones they had and they fit :-(.

Thats a shame mate. Make sure they are the ones you wanted and they have not sent you the wrong size.

Is it possible to pack something round the outer edge of the centre cap and the wheel (hidden from view obviously) so it fits or is it a massively big difference?

The difference is mere millimetres it's just the clips aren't bit enough to actually Clip on and the middle sinks all the way through and leaves a big recess il take a pic in a sec of how the White ones fit, slightly gutted as mboyle4 had these exact same ones and they were not a problem,

As opposed to

Ok slight update after pushing it in the alloy and slightly extending the clips it now is catching on one side so in gonna take the wheel off when I'm home and extend the clips properly and see if that works and the gap shouldn't be as bad once the vw aluminium sticker caps are on.

The only other thing I can think of is get more dotz caps and put the vw sticker on them but I guess that will all depend on how easy they are to get hold of and the cost of them.

Big Red a few new pictures

Post by red6n2 »

Yeah it's not right at the min lol looks 'off' maybe if I shorten it it will be better if not it's gone and il get a red one and if that looks bad then new grills and there both gone lol.

I want a colour coded GTI splitter to bring the front a bit lower it looks like it's sitting quite high but it's as low as a daily driver should be on 16's without going through 16 tyres a year. Any one else have suggestions ?.
