Squeaky Wheel?

My car has developed a squeaky wheel (sounds like an old spring bed every revolution) and after i had a feel round tonight i found grease smeared on the inside of the wheel.

Is this a sign of a broken CV joint?

Yes the grease is probably from a split cv boot leading to a failing cv joint.

agree, next question how far can i push it before the axle starts flailing around and smashing stuff? Bad question i know but i'm out in the coutryside so gonna have to drive it at least a short distance.

ideally you want to get it sorted asap? if it hasent been squeaking for long you should be fine for short distances..
