I sit firmly in the camp of treating the car hard for the first 100 miles (after warming the engine up obviously) as it seats the piton rings in better, gives a lower oil useage and the car ultimately gives better performance over a gently ran in one.

Excellent work! For my previous new cars, I changed out the oil pretty quickly and replaced it with mineral 5w30 oils at 500km, 1000km, 3000km until 5000km. yeah, I've been reading on the oil consumption issues and decided to go "off-piste" and try some Mobil 1 0w40 synthetic once I've reached 200 miles and had the car mapped.kevinctr wrote:Excellent work! My Polo is now at Santander waiting to go on a boat! Dealer said it will be 2-3 weeks until I get it.
