6N2 cruise control?

Hi there

Iv just signed up, I bought a white 6n2 last week!

I'm just wondering if cruise control is a possible retrofit? Iv just read a detailed guide on how to do it on a lupo tdi, which doesn't have it as an option. I guess one of the biggest obstacles is whether the 6n2 is fly by wire throttle, or cable

The auk engine which is in the 1.0 I think is fly by wire. Interesting fact there

Iv seem it done on a derv 6n2, just hoping the petrol is the same!

How easy tho? Iv heard 6n2s are cabled throttles, not fly by wire which I presume is a problem? How easy is it then? I know you need to make your own loom, and get it activated with vagcom, just wanted to make sure a 1.4 16v 76bhp could support it. I know i also have to get the ecu pinouts

Before I type it out, go look under your bonnet and see what you've got.

Accelerator cable or potentiometer.

Same principle applies, I know the GTI has the capabilities, not sure on the 1.4 16V thing though.

Yeah that's the guide i read and got me thinking, just hope it's possible. Is there anyway to check its possible on the ecu before I start?

All 6n2s are drive by wire apart from a few early models using older hybrid 6n engines

Cruise control is only properly possible on the 1.4TDI, 16V options and the GTI, though I can't be 100% on the 16Vs

Aye its mainly the 1.4 16V engines that still had cable throttle due to a surplus of left over parts from the 6n 16vs
