I don't want you to take this the wrong way mate I'm just real interested, but how can you warrant £9k? This is honestly a friendly question!! :)

As a fellow car fiddler, I understand how 9k could be spent. I only had my 1.9tdi 9n3 10 months and I spent like 3k on it in that time! Once you get an idea in your head of how you want your car to look like or sound like or be as fast as, the modification ball keeps rolling! I'm lucky I bought my 9n3 GTI already modded with 9000 quids worth of awesome-GTI receipts as proof that my car has been heavily breathed on!

JonnyBCK's GT Hybrid on route

Post by JonnyBCK »

It is easily done like and all to put a smile on ur face, id happily go buy a focus st or astra vxr to do the exact same as what im doing now but theres a something about the little diesel that uv just got to love and at the end of the day ul be the one laughing at them as u sail past with 50mpg compared to 20 from a focus and its going to be ur own unique car. With only 500 of these cars left they are pritty rare why not make it that bit more special and fun.

JonnyBCK's GT Hybrid on route

Well got the car back not happy at all she doesnt boost at all not even if u restart so its not even in limp mode. Taking it back today hopefully to have a look at the actuator that operates the vanes as i think this has failed. I understand that it wont be mapped for the turbo but surely it will still boost something until it overboost and goes into limp mode

Would not over boost would just be slower than when u didn't have it on.

Is it driving normal until 2000rpm and is it making a lot of black smoke? Is it crap to drive above 2000rpm like it's misfiring. Yes to all? Prob a boost leak. Otherwise could be a whole new ball game for me too

Theres no smoke at all like so i really dont know its really laggy until around 2k revs then it begins to spool but i get nothing at all from it. I really dont know whats going on under there am tryin to find a specialist remap company in scotland but no one seems to be keen so might be looking at that company you used g humm was it r tech? Really dont fancy driving it all the way down there though just to be told something else is wrong.

That is the company. He will diagnose it as well tell them Graham with the polo recommended you. He is very good at his job and he "doesn't work for money" he loves the smiles on his face after the customers test drive.
Did you have a stage 1 map or was the car standard? If it was standard you won't get any torque surge and would probably feel pretty flat.

If you go there let me know and if I'm off I will just drive up for the hell of it. It's only 2 hrs.

He would come up but only for a stage 1 I think. Custom maps need the rolling road

nah not necessarily roger clark do live road mapping which is better in my opinion putting the car through its paces! live data logging as well kid all across the rev range you wont get a bhp reading but a better custom map IMO!

His rollers are setup for mapping mate he can load them up so it's like a road but safer. He can do live mapping on his rollers. If u asked him he could explain better than me

at the end of the day mate you are far away but modding your car in my opinion requires someone to modify it who has the expertees and by this i mean youve started modding so its worth the travel to get the most of your money and quality, i guess your gonna have to bite the bullet and travel or find a VAG tuner in scotland...

put it this way youll have fun on the way back home for sure!
