BMC CDA 6n2 GTi can't find 1 :-/

Post by Ashcroft »

I've been looking for a BMC CDA for my GTi but I can't find 1 anywhere!
All I can seem to find is 1.4 16v not 1.6 16v GTi
Is that what all you lot been putting on? Is there no difference in the diameter of the holes on the CDA?

I bought one of ebay, not a BMC but one made by ash, it was just the carbon box and i bought some hose to connect it, as far as i can remember the throttle body is about 65mm (correct me if im wrong) ... Dont know if thats any help.... Not sure if the 1.4 is same size but you can buy different size hoses

The only difference between these two kits is the size reducer they send. The 1.4 only has a 50mm throttle body I thinks where the gti is slightliy bigger you can but that kit and then buy your own reducer / I think it comes with the right one anyway

I would highly recommend the k&n typhoon kit mate, no heat sock and actually gives you gains, pricey but well worth the money..... Looks tidy in the bay aswell insted of crappy clamps the bmc comes with : /

Ha. Yeah it's abit lengthy mate but a good read i reckon lol!

That's a smashing price that. Red would look better than polished I think, could do the red cap mod and spray them to match you know.. No polishing all the time either...!

Only thing about the kit that's not that good is the jubilee clamps, I updated mine to boost clamps but that's just me being anal. Lol.

Yeh I was thinking of the red cos it goes with spark plug leads, top of the engine and the strut brace I've got so extra £20 for a nice looking typhoon kit is worth it I think. And like you said do red caps aswell.

I've been so close to ordering it 2day!! Just means a week without money :-p
