Been having problems with the lock on my boot for months, and it finally stopped working completely on Wednesday. Problem being I have the 'Sport' model which has no manual/key lock therefore I had to open the boot from the inside each time. A quick google brought this thread & forum to my attention and thanks to capo with the detail and pics, I had enough info to give it a bash wrt fixing the problem.
Strange thing was it was cheaper for me to buy the part direct from my local VW dealer than it was to try my luck on ebay!
Main thing is my Polo now has a boot that works properly again, thanks to capo! Cheers matey, all the best.
