Hadn't noticed that bucket seat before

Thanks man hope so too.

He said he couldn't start anything till Monday coming so hopefully all good news.

Only problem is if the intercooler needs changing then i wont see my car till mid July as I'm going on holiday for two weeks on 30th June

Re: Black Polo GTI 6 Speed. @Badger5 for Mapping Update Pg30

Post by 9N3 Turbo »

Had a small update from Bill @ Badge5 this morning.

So he mapped my car last week and said the build was of great quality which made me happy.

He said that it is currently producing 313 BHP and 292 torque.

He also said 350 bhp is probably a bit optimistic so will have to wait and see how much it produces with the intercooler and pipe work change as my Forge intercooler and pipework has to go as i am losing 10PSI.

Turbo side is logging 29PSI and the engine is only receiving 19PSI.

So new intercooler has to be fitted along with 63mm piping.

On this basis i will not be going to GTI International with my car :-( so probs wont bother going any more.

Wont be picking the car up till the 15th July as i will be on holiday from the 30th so will update you all when i hear more or after my drive home from collecting the car.

Ahhhhhhhhh was wondering why I couldn't get hold of you.

Have a good break. I go away on the 30th for two weeks so if our dates cross and you can't get hold of me that's why

To be honest mate after going in my mates one with the hybrid turbo I sold him I was worried I would have far to much power making it a nightmare to drive so very happy with the figures.

Personally would be happy for the BHP to stay as it is but would like the torque to be 300

Will hopefully be doing a video on the way home after picking it up :D

And yes will defo be at Edition so I'll see you there. Also decided to go to International to see what's up there, take some pics and have a look about so if your going I'll try and spot your car and hang around lol

Bloody nice figures mate!

Can't believe the forge loses so much pressure. Off to the dyno tomorrow to see how that translates into more power with the SEAT sport on now.

Thanks man. Now I want to see how it feels to drive and also need to look at the power curve.

If possible can you do some logging pre and post intercooler change?

Been told many times that the Seat cooler is better than the forge one and is good for upto 350bhp but again it only has 2" inlet and outlet which is where there will be restriction.

Once my new cooler has been fitted I will post up findings from the logging that Bill does for me

Ps got your message about the hosese. Thanks

Hey mate, pretty conclusive results from the dyno yesterday. This is the result of only changing the FMIC from Forge to Seat.

Power up from 141.9 to 147.1, so a 6kW gain at the wheels.
Torque up from 374.5 to 376.4, so a 1.9Nm gain at the wheels (see below for reason why it's not a big increase)
And finally boost has increased just over 1 psi increase in peak boost.

Here are the charts showing the overlapped baseline runs also.

Image

As you can see the blue line shows the IC is holding boost longer in the higher rev range. But it seems i'm now getting some retardation in torque at 3200rpm where is wasn't before. He said it's because i'm leaning out which my air fuel ratio shows as well. So next thing will be bigger injectors and fuel pump and that will translate into even more torque

Image

So it seems the big increase in air flow is maxing out the fuel system.

Image

I am still only running the stock ko3s with a few other mods so a bigger turbo would see even greater results :D

Current power mods;

Custom Code Stage II tune
3” cold air feed ducting
Modshack VTDA with custom cold air 3” ducting inlet with K&N pod filter
Forge Motorsport turbo inlet hose
Forge Motorsport 007P closed loop diverter valve with yellow spring rated 15-23psi
SEAT Sport FMIC
Forge Motorsport intercooler to throttle body hose
ATP turbo hiflow exhaust manifold HPC coated
Custom stainless steel 2.5” dump pipe
Metal Cat 2.5” stainless steel. hiflow catalytic converter
Milltek 2.5” stainless steel resonated cat back exhaust
Phenolic intake manifold gasket
ECS lightweight crank pulley
SAI Pump, N249 & N112 delete
Wahler 71c thermostat
Bosch 4 bar FPR
Mishimoto carbon fibre Oil/Water catch can
NKG BKR7EKT spark plugs
14lb light weight fly wheel

Thanks for the info. That's a great result and in my opinion finally answer the argument of forge or seat cooler?

What pipe work are you using?
2" diameter?
The seat cooler would be perfect if it had 63mm 2.5" in/outlets.

What size injectors you thinking of using?
One from BAM engines?

No worries :D Yes mate, just the OEM size piping. I used a pre made piping kit from Forge Image Still had to reuse the old OEM turbo out let pipe though.

I think it was from a SEAT Leon, the part number from memory is FMSKINT. Here is the link to my build thread showing the some pics my mechanic took of the forge pipework set up http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/ ... 11-36.html

I current have some Bosch EV6 415cc injectors and a APR performance fuel pump ready to go in

When are you getting to test pilot your weapon?

Ahhh cool well keep us posted how you get on with the pump and injectors be good to see what difference they make too.
Will have a look over your build thread when I get a mo as me and my son are having a father son day :-).
Due to me going on holiday next Saturday for 2 weeks I won't be able to pick the car up till 15th July.
That day is going to be exciting and will no probs see me spending a lot of money on fuel lol

No worries mate, will do.

Yeah, I need to remind myself sometimes that quality time with the family is more important than the car

Can't wait to hear how she drives!

Cheers.
