Mine is run exclusively on vpower, mines mapped to make the most of it however if i need to use lower grade fuel I can retard the timing on my map to keep things safe.

V-power or tesco 99Ron Momentum at a push. Not worth using 95ron on a mapped Polo GTI IMO. :)

Does anyone here regularly run their GTI on 95 RON rather than the higher octane stuff?

The price gap between the fuels seems to be getting bigger, and I'm fed up of paying the higher price. My car isn't mapped or anything.

BPs stuff is only 97 ron i notice. Have used v power ... Not noticed any difference to 95 to be honest. Would fill with high octane if could find it each time. But is it really necessary? Not a money issue from my perspective but convenience .... I cant always queue for the petrol station one high octane pump!

If your remapped high octane quality fuel should be the only one you fill with.

High octane gives you more bang per buck and is known to reduce the risk of pre detonation.

I only use BP Ultimate or Shell V Power.

Supermarket super unleaded is crap and I won't use it. The reason they sell it so cheap is because the RON/Octane is right at the bottom limit of what is acceptable to call super unleaded, and the mainstream petrol stations won't sell it. Therefore I won't buy it :)

I used to use V Power in my 1.2 TSI but I get the same returns from BP Ultimate and it's slightly cheaper :) If the Shell garage was local though i'd probably carry on using that 8)

V-power = RON97
Ultimate = RON98

Here in the Netherlands Ultimate is the cleanest and highest octane you can get, our German neighbours got RON100, lucky bastards! :P
