Hi mate, awesome looking car!

Just wondering what your opinion of the H&R springs are like? I'm thinking of going for some for my polo.

Cheers,
Jac

Nice car NMavs, what's the output on it with the remap? I'm live in Heywood so good to see two other Manc members! :)

HI mate. Thanks for the kind words :)

As for the springs, I loved the stance they gave the car. They sat perfectly level and was defiantly low enough for our British roads. I have taken them off now though (in the for sale section  ). My only criticism was that they are too low for somebody who likes to go for a spirited drive over the tops, like I do, so I've swopped them out for the Eibach sportline kit from VW.

Cheers

Glad to hear they gave a good stance, but i'm just worried about how low they're going to take me! I have to drive over a lot of bumps everyday! :x

Might have to go for the Eibach sportline kit myself! :D

Thanks

Update:

Haven't really updated this thread in a while, so here goes:

* Removed the H&R 35 / 55mm Spring kit and replaced with the Eibach Pro Kit (15mm / 20mm)
* 20mm Hub-centric spacers to rear (Still need to sort the fronts)
* In the middle of changing the setup of my Forge Motorsport CAI. (Turning it through 90 Degs to face the grille)
* Had the car on a rolling road - Print outs below - Made 215 BHP (175Bhp at the wheels) - 292Nm Torque - Running Custom Code Phase 1 :)
* Ordered some PlastDip to spray the front and rear VW badges to see if I like them
* Ordered the MFSW controls which should be here next week. Will get some pics up when I've fitted them
* Also been looking into switching to 312mm Brakes on the fonts, and upgrading the rear disks and pads.
* Tempted to go custom code phase 2 in October when I get back from the states :)

Cars also had:

* New radiator fitted under VW warranty as the internal seal failed.
* New accelerator pedal as the old one was sticking / holding revs
* NGK BKR7E Iridium spark plugs
* New coilpack on cylinder 1 as the old one failed.
* Full machine polish and wax to remove all the defects that VW kindly did after washing it with the stoney sponge

much better 8) I personally don't think the front needs spacing but each to their own!

So I bought myself another Vagcom (VCDS) cable last week and it arrived on Saturday morning, so decided to have a little play around with some settings.

Had already enabled the auto locking doors and bleeps last time, but have now changed Channel 09 - Brake Assist to Setting 2 (Hard) which makes a huge difference to the feel of the brake pedal & also Channel 39 - XDS to Setting 2 (Hard). This change alone is like night and day. The car feels awesome under hard driving, and also the DSG box is now shifting up and down gears so faster & smoother. Would highly recommend you people with the GTI to give these ago: D

Also enabled the tear drop wipe & heated mirrors to activate when rear windscreen heater is activated and fitted my MFSW controls, which work and absolute treat. £50 for the controls brand new, plug and play job, which is like £200 saving from choosing the option when ordering the car from new: D Winner!

Update:

Just taken delivery of my special order straight from the factory!! OEM style LED xenon headlamps. They make such a huge difference to the front end of the car. Looks awesome. And having the hid's installed in a proper projector headlamp makes driving of a night much better. Anyway, i shall let the pictures do the talking :D

Re: NMavs's Candy White Polo GTI - Retro-Fitted Xenons

No sorry pal, took me ages to get hold of someone in order to get these. Had to have them specially built for RHD as all others are LHD. I told them there was lots of people asking for these and they said they would look into selling them. So keep an eye out for them!
