Odometer Fail

Post by discreet »

I have a 97 MkIV and everything on the display works fine - except for the odometer, which reads: ' - - - - - - '.
My local VW mechanic is using lack of mileage display as an excuse not to give me a full guarantee of his work.
Is there anything I can do about this that won't cost me a fortune..? Thanks very much. :)

A new set of clocks will likely fix that problem

You mean replace the whole dash unit?

Yes

You'll just need to make sure you get the same style of clocks and a similar mileage.

I have no idea what the mileage is - the odometer display has been ' - - - - - - ' for years. :)
But thanks very much for the info. I'll get google on the case.
