I have a GTI with halogens and I've tried to enable the coming home lights, but it doesn't work on mine either.

Best VAGCOM codes to enable on Polo 6R?
Can I ask if I'd be able to enable things like needle sweep on my r line style? I know it's basically an S with a body kit so I don't think I can, just looking for clarity? Cheers lads

You can get cables on eBay. It's the software that your paying the price for though. Usually eBay cables come with a version of VCDS that might be a bit older and you can't update it because it's a copy. But it still works fine. Buying the cable from Ross tech give you the latest software that you can keep upto date

Re: Best VAGCOM codes to enable on Polo 6R?
Hi
This is my first post on this forum. I have a 2 month old Polo BlueGT manual and have been very impressed with it apart from the ridiculously light steering.
One of the first things I did was to acquire a VCDS cable, I've used these in the past so know how useful they are. I struck extremely lucky and picked up a genuine RossTech cable of eBay for £30, the seller thought it was a copy as the only markings on it was Ilexa but I knew this to be normal from this UK distributor. It was in fact a full Hex-Can-USB cable.
Using the cable I changed to one click unlocking for all doors, added front fog lights assist when cornering and changed to Australian settings to give large digital speedo thanks to the previous post on this forum.
As I said the one thing about the Polo that I was not so happy with is the steering assistance as I found the steering to light and even worse was the change in assistance depending on the speed. I know most new cars with electric power steering have little feel but the Polo's I found particularly poor due to the excessive assistance. Looking at the modules fitted with the VCDS I noticed the "Steering Aid" one so had a look to see if I could change things. There are 6 program options:

Mine was set to Sporty Car which is understandable but it does not mention the extra assistance for low speed, though from my experience it does have it. I decided to try "Light Car Normal" as I would expect this to give the least assistance. With this setting it has vastly improved things for me and I now have a lot more confidence when cornering as the steering doesn't suddenly go light as if the wheels had lost grip like it did before.
I'm also waiting on delivery of a JF Automotive tuning module and will report on that at a later date.

Copy & Paste Job
You can change the steering feel via VCDS as well. I'm currently on Program 21 (SEAT Ibiza) which has a heavier feel at slower speeds.
Default for GTI is 41
If you're after a constant weight to the wheel try program 20 (9N Polo GTI)
If you want a super light city car feel try program 51 (Audi A1)
STG 44 Steering Assistance
STG Codierung -> Channel 07
xxx??: Program Type
10 - Normal (9N: PR L05, L06, L07, L08, L19, L20, L21, L32, L33)
11 - Seat Ibiza (6J)
20 - Polo 9N GTI (PR G12)
21 - Seat Ibiza (6J)
30 - Comfort (Polo 6R Comfortline)
40 - Normal light vehicles (9N: PR L01, L02, L03, L04, L15, L16, L17, L18 )
41 - Skoda Fabia 2 RS / Polo GTI
50 - Comfort for light vehicles (Polo 6R Highline)
51 - Audi A1 (8X)
60 - Steering assistance for impaired (PR 1N5)

Re: Best VAGCOM codes to enable on Polo 6R?
This is coding using VCDS all I'm doing is using the balloon guide as a helper, the codes are the same. My car was set with the last two digits at 20 and I've changed it to 40. To me the final digit is dependant on the steering rack fitted so I've not changed that.
