Hi guys, thought I would stick up some impressions of my FSR box fitted to my BlueGT
For context, I have owned Polo GTi (9n3) with a revo remap, and a Golf GTI (mkv) with both a bluefin and APR remap (not at the same time!).
Ordering the box was easy as can be, the guys at DTUK are super helpful on the online chat and great to talk to on the phone. I am not sure if they ever sleep! If you are unsure or have any questions, give them a ring, there is no pressure selling.
This is what the box looks like and the loom required to fit it to your car, its as easy as locating the correct sensors, unplugging them and adding the piggy back connectors.

In the case of the 1.4 TSI you need to remove part of the intake system, but this is very easy with a set of mole grips or hose clamp pliers.
Finally you need to connect the loom to your battery, ensuring you have the polarity the correct way around (this is so important that DTUK add a note to your box asking you to ring them to ensure this is clear!).
The box has several programs included which change the power curve and correction factors which increase or decrease the performance boost. I tried to get the guys to tell me which map to use, the response was always, go and find out yourself! I will go into more detail of the maps when my pedal-box has arrived when I do a more in depth review.
So onto the important bit! What is it like to drive? I have settled on Map 3 with a correction factor of +2 and it really unlocks this car. It take it from feeling like a warm hatch to something very similar to my old Polo GTi. There is bags of torque available which was previously missing, and 4th gear has become incredible! You can simply lower your right foot and find yourself getting on the bad side of the speed limit before you know it. The car is much more fun to throw around back roads now. In addition it still has the ability to be a laid back ride, when driving normally the box does not compromise the nature of the car, just adding power when you need it such a pulling out of side roads.
I would also like to mention the truly superhuman levels of support provided by DTUK. I had a few questions with regards to mapping and start stop (which is not effected by the box, turns out it was the cold!). I messaged them on Sunday morning expecting a reply mid day Monday, instead I got instant help via text which was friendly and effective. If only all business were like this!
I will update this when my pedalbox is fitted. but so far its a massive thumbs up.
