So re-ordered through Drive the Deal - so far ( touching wood!) it's been a pleasure dealing with the dealer in Kent who I ended up with. Got the car £1000 cheaper than original order even with adding xenons.
That does sound very very bad customer service. I would make a complain if that were me.

Luckily my dealer is keeping me informed every few weeks, and almost matched Car Wow (saves me travelling 150 Miles) :) so Im happy especially as I asked for May delivery and they happily agreed to it (so I could save for the rest of the deposit)

Strange things have happened.

Monday my dealer phoned and explained my BGT is being built next week and should have it at end of April. I explained I couldn't pick it up until end of May as originally agreed (so I can afford rest of deposit)

Then this morning I get an email saying its left the factory???

I've emailed the dealer to see if the website is correct. Bit strange if true.

Anyone else had a dealer say one thing website say another?

Roughly how close to best Car Wow price did you manage to get your local dealer to go down to, also are you doing it via a cash sale and with no trade-in. I'm asking all these questions as I'm about to "push the button" on an order for a 5 door 1.2 TSI 110 SEL 6SPEED, I've got all the broker prices I need and will be going for a cash sale with no trade-in, but would go for a local deal if it was within £500 of what I will need to travel for if buying via a broker. I'm getting roughly £1500 of options so either way it will be a factory order and probably from South Africa unless Spain has started to handle 5door SEL as it seems they get some of the RHD 5door SE cars.

Best I can get is "by the end of this month". I know March is a busy month but, this time last year, my gf actually picked up her new Polo 7 days after it arrived at the port.
Umiamz, how are you finding the car drives, is your car a 6 speed, as per my previous posting, I am about to order my wife one of these cars (5 door 1.2TSI 110PS 6 speed) to replace her, owned from new late 2002 Polo 9N 1.4SE 75PS 5 door which she has always found a bit slow!

Hi, they were £300 more expensive it worked out, however they are giving me a full tank of fuel :), and it's part ex aswell (on PCP finance)

Drives really smoothly with plenty of power when you need it and, yes, it's a 6-speed. Tyres are a little noisy but that may be because everything else is so quiet :)

I've had only one problem with it and that's with the central locking. The red led in the driver's door comes on solid for 30 seconds when I lock the car and, according to the manual, this indicates a fault. Car is booked in next week for this to be looked at.

I'm just getting the standard 5 spoke 16" wheels on it - 5 spoke = easy to clean! Maybe if you have the 17" that would account for hearing road noise. I'll be getting some 15" steelie/alloys for winter use. Having driven daughter's late 2009 Ibiza 1.4 S/C with 17" wheels and probably very little sound proofing (being a Seat) quite a lot, I would probably think that the new Polo was a lot quieter. Audis are very "bad" in that respect, my old B5 Passat 4Motion with 16" wheels and Michelin Alpins was certainly said to be whisper quiet by the owner of a B8 A4, though I have to say my B8 S4 seems fine with either 18" (Alpin) winters or 19" (P Zero Rosso)summer tyres on.

Well I've finished doing my sums, factored in an extra £300 like you to add to my lowest "on the road" price, and have come away from local dealer having signed up for a new car! There are a few changes in the pipeline, most significant for me is that the 1.2 110PS engine gets dropped from week 26 build, a 1.0 110PS replaces it, but as my order is in prior to this cut-off time, I should still be able to get the 1.2 110PS. The 1.2 90PS remains in use though, no colour changes due for Polo and no other significant changes.

So, why might you ask, am I trying to get an engine that is being dropped from the range, well maybe it is down to VAG's recent bad "luck" with newly introduced engines, I've no doubt that the 1.0 110PS engines will be cleaner/greener than the 1.2 110PS, but its the increasing PS/Ltr that bothers me for a car I intend to hold on to. No doubt others will take a different view.

R version is appearing again, but going by what it seems to be, it does not draw me away from the SEL.

Mine took aroud 5 months and 2 weeks to arrive at the dealer about 1 week ago :!:

I should be picking it up next week, there has been a delay because my trade in was vandalized so I have to get that prepared before taking it to the VW dealer.

I ordered via Car Wow (just over £2500 off), the price was great and I got negotiated CAP clear value for my trade in too. I'm also taking the 3 year servicing for £199 offer and a year's free fully comp insurance.

Looking forward to getting it but the wait has been ridiculous.

It has no options and is in the free grey colour but for the money it should be a really nice car I hope!

How long after placing the order should I get a build week assigned? I ordered my Blue GT on the 8th March 2015.

My 5dr B GT with plenty of extras took 13 weeks to get a confirmed build week and will be about 20 / 21 weeks overall from order to delivery.

In my case, we would be delighted if it took that long as it would be a 65 plate, the order form is marked as a notional "15" registration.

Down side is wife's old Polo, might have taken a huff, as it seems to have a flat front tyre - but that can happen anytime I suppose!!

My car is now @ the dealer despite them not telling me.. (Dealer might be off)

I'm positive I see it yesterday on a video they posted on their FB Page (they showed round the back and the PDI part), as they don't sell hardly any of them and it would be perfect timing if it is mine :D

I hope I can get it next week :)
