APR Remap for Polo GTI 6c
Re: APR Remap for Polo GTI 6c
Did some research and apparently old Audi S4's used to have ko3's on them and one was running around 350bhp... So surely they could cope with 270/280.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of power we can get out of this new 1.8tsi!
Polo's will absolutely smoke ST's and VXR's!
I have also emailed revo to see if they will divulge any info about how their development is going and what we might expect to see out of a stage 2 map.

Sorry only just seen your reply, been away. It has been great, done about 4K miles with the remap now, been trouble free. Car has done 11k now in about 4 months.
Worthwhile for sure, mine is a manual.

I really didn't have any confidence speaking to Awesome GTI so ended up having the remap completely removed and a full refund.
I took the car straight round to Stadt Technik who are a dealer of Revo.... They said they have already tuned some manuals but would like my car to develop a tune that works with the DSG.... They plugged the laptop in but couldn't get past the ECU encription so I'm back to square one for now.
I'd be interested to hear of anyone with DSG who has had better results.
At the moment I'm weighing up 2 options:-
1) Tuning box - I don't have any info about them yet or even how good they are but I'm going to see if they are are worth installing and if they have long term reliability
2) There's a company in Germany called HG motorsport. They have a fully tuned Polo 6c GTi putting out about 260bhp with a few additional mods but with standard DSG. I might make contact with them and see if they'd be interested in tuning my car.
I need to do something soon because the car really feels depressingly slow and lethargic!!

He did an on the road customised remap on a 3.0 TDI in about 4 hours with an "encrypted ECU" via the OBD port
Other well known VAG remap specialists (at least 3) required the car for several days and would have to do a bench reflash with an open ECU
Incidentally I have driven a 2016 Polo 1.8 GTI 8C with a D7F DSG gearbox. When in sports mode the box does not respond well when braking from speed, seems to drop to a lower gear too quickly! It has a Continental SIMOS 18.1 ECU
Need to check with VW whether there is a manufacturer DSG software solution
Good luck

Re: APR Remap for Polo GTI 6c
Hi, have anybody experienced problems with turbocharger?
I have a manual version but just around 40 kms after apr remap my turbo has blown. Only a stage 1.
There is also another italian guy with a DSG and stage 2 and turbo has gone only 300 kms after tune....
I can't feel safe and don't understand why revo is still waiting for releasing software.

I have done about 6000 miles using the remap (one of the first cars to be done), pretty hard driving and no issues for meVittorioPoloGTI wrote:Hi, have anybody experienced problems with turbocharger?

I am really happy to hear this from you! my car was a S0003 software version and I remapped just a few days after file's release...But also in the first kms car wasn't pulling as hard as expected...maybe something went wrong in the map? It seems an italian related problem only...
Re: APR Remap for Polo GTI 6c
Turbo failed at 2500 miles. Stock car no mods. Is it the same unit that is causing all the failures on the mk7 Golf? I assume so since its the EA888 engine, though only 1.8. Not impressed.

Looks like we are the only two people with turbo issues here...so i think and i hope this problem should not affect every car like in golf GTIs...fredw wrote:Turbo failed at 2500 miles. Anyway polo and golf turbochargers are really similar but different (the golf's one is a bit bigger and called is20...our is is12)
Re: APR Remap for Polo GTI 6c
Victoria, what was the part number of the failed turbo and what was the replacement one? Mine was a 06K 145 701T so I'm interested to know if that is the latest revision or there is a later one that is now being fitted. Be interested also if anyone on here with a post Feb 2016 car can tell me which version is on their car.

Re: APR Remap for Polo GTI 6c
Hi, my stock turbo rev was 701T and my blown turbo has been replaced with 701T in April 2016.fredw wrote:Victoria, what was the part number of the failed turbo and what was the replacement one? I asked my dealer and he told me that not any new version has been released, probably because the issue was't common.
So I think that every polo GTI is still using 701T
