Hi people,

I am Kuba

And this is my Polo.

Our roads crossed in 2017 and since that time I like her more and more   but she's not easy one.

2017 - I found her in an ad...


   

She was not the prettiest, but after couple of days she was mine.

- Loaded on a tow truck in a traditional polish style  :roll:

It was imported from France. The car was put up for auction, showing signs of burglary with the use of primitive tools.

The thieves stole the headlights, bending the hood, breaking the radiator grille and forcibly pulling them out.
Then they smashed the passenger glass and stole the radio unit. All of that by the use of flat screwdriver.
There was a lot of broken parts: Windshield, stalks, dashboard, radio wires, passenger window, door panel, side skirts, rear wiper motor, rear dampers and many many more.

Firstly I started with a cleaning, there were a tons of glass particles everywhere, than installing new winter wheels, because steel wheels that were mounted, was too small to even move it.












After that I started the rebuild ---> collecting parts ---> doing repairs in every free time ----> it is still that way

Stalks where broken in that way, that rear wiper and washer were on all the time ---> So I bought correct stalks for cruise control retrofitting, but by the lack of time and need for repair more important things in that time I just installed without a proper wiring.
Same think was with the headlights.

      

    

In a shortcut - I was fixing everything along the time

For ex. restoring OEM rear lights and many many more.

Finally I bought new summer wheels and she looks much better.



But after some time I observed a little bit of white smoke, notice some vibration, which was getting worst every week ......

When I opened the engine it looks like this:









And here we have the cause -->   .

So engine rebuild was necessary to make it operational one more time.


I did the engine rebuild according to Lucifer666 1.4 tsi guide from seat forum, trying to fix it as much possible.

There is still some white smoke and some brownish fluid collecting in a catch can but now engine is working properly - at least I hope so.

Oil used : 0W40 Penrite 10 tenths

Last week I've also noticed oil smell in the cabin and oil in intake. After investigation it was faulty breather hose - so I change it and that result in no more oil smell.
Last thing that I have to replace is clutch kit and flywheel due to some vibration during 1-2 shift - but this will happen in January maybe.

Finally after investing money and time in rebuild I can start doing more pleasant things and ones I didn't have time for.

I am planing to:

Firstly:

• Fix headlights ---> proper wiring + coding

• Lights auto switch ---> wiring from ciclo + coding

• Connect cruise control --> proper wiring + coding

• Connect MDI --> just installation of interface + coding

• Dab antenna --> installation

• RVC camera --> installation + coding

• PDC Front ---> installation + coding

Fix all bad coding

Hello

I was really busy during Christmas and New Year.
But today I did some work, as I am waiting for package to be delivered I tried to fix things.

Ciclo I tried to disable antenna diagnostics via new coding you send me, but it won't accept new coding, so I will check the wiring tomorrow.


I also connect wires for a cruise control, migrate T14/14 wires to fog lights, connect double fakra adapter.

As I was making new wires, I decide that I will try to make a proper wiring to my headlights, even if as you said my BCM is very likely not suitable.
I was pulling new wire to ECU during CC retrofit, so as I was there I connect a new wires from ASF positive to T14/8, and from BCM T73b/54 and 56 to T14/14 and change places of pins in T14, according to guide that iichel posted on mypolo.nl
Just to see what happens, if it will not work I will change BCM

As day come to an end I didn't finished assembly so I will continue tomorrow

I'll post updated autoscan and some photos.

I would recommend to do all the wiring at once for you headlights and bcm max. it will save you a lot of time overall and will give you the best result.

A good option is to contact firegrafik, he can help you get a new 7E0 BCM Max of the latest models, this is what many people did here in the forum.

I think I remember that my old original BCM 7H0937089F (a long time since then), did not work properly after installing the new CAN lines for the Instrument panel/cluster in order to install the new 7E0 BCM models. (54b / 57b <---> 28 / 29 .... BCM <---> IC)
I guess your BCM 7H0937089D (oldest still) will happen the same.
