Looking in the owners manual, i see that the gti with GPF, has a top speed og 240kmh. The filterless engine has a top speed of 237kmh.
How come? Anyone?

Seems it is all in the official map which is slightly different for variants with and without GPF. They also showed drag races of both cars and swapped drivers to be sure it wasn't driver competence giving advantage for 1 car over the other. The GPF equipped Golf was significantly left behind early into the drag race and clawed some of that back later into the race when the slightly better top end response came into play.
Either way, not a bother.- my 2018 GTI+ without GPF has noticeably better midrange response than my wife's 2019 GTI+ with GPF, so seems to follow the Golf's example. I do prefer driving mine to hers because the mid range is more important to the top end in everyday driving.
Did you notice though that the weight of the 2 cars are the same, implying that the GPF is very light, seemingly not affecting the kerb weight at all. The DSG box seemingly is 30Kg heavier than the manual one. That is one hell of a difference.
