Radio upgrade

Post by Chowarddd »

Hello all

I’m new to polos and I’ve just got a 2011 Polo, 6c I believe, for my first car and the one thing I instantly want to upgrade is the radio, I believe the one i have atm is 5M0035156C and I want to get the rcd330 and was wondering if it’s just plug and play, or do I need some adapters?

All helps appreciated

Awesome thank you 🙏

Is there any coding involved to remove component protection and get car play activated?

I don't really know the technical terms for all the parts, but doesn't it require to install another box/computer thingy inside the glove box? (Coming from rcd210/310)

I did the exact same thing as you, got a basic 6R as a first car and ripped the radio out first thing. RCD310 is a super easy swap, it's a direct plug and play. Only thing you'll need is a security code thing, you can get them on ebay for like a fiver. RCD330 i'm not sure on, think there's a bit more work involved.

Hi, sorry to jump on post but similar question…I’ve just bought my daughter a 2009 polo match with a very basic original radio, I was looking at replacing with an RCD 330, could anyone advise if this is an easy swap? Thanks I’m advance 😊

I have a 2010 Polo and swapped mine for RCD330.
Straight swap no issue :)

You’re good to go.
