Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Morning ciclo,
When I started this work I was unaware of any other threads related to this work, it's only since having problems I've found the others. I'm also gutted because I didn't realise you were making wiring looms again I suppose he who doesn't ask, doesn't get...
I do have a drawing of the electrical installation that I produced for my own reference, it's based on your drawing for auto lights on T5.1, and your drawing for HBA (ie, full beams controlled by BCM).
I'll probably redraw it though as it's starting to look a mess, all hand written with lots of marks indicating my progress and oily fingerprints now My coding shouldn't have changed since my last post of an autoscan but I'll check and carry out another one shortly. I'll also see if I can post my adaptation map if I can get the Google drive working correctly again. Thank you
PS- I definitely owe you a beer for the huge amount of information you've contributed that has made this possible

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Good evening TheKeymeister.
Let me explain to you and everyone.
Factors and compatibilities for BCM adaptation in T5.1. (434 MHz)
1- BCM Max 7H0 937 090 ... / A / B / D
- This thread is correct to follow and do the electrical installation of the BCM adaptation, automatic lights and bi-xenon headlights.
2- BCM Max 7E0 937 090 ... / B / C / D / E
- This thread is correct to follow and do the electrical installation of the BCM adaptation, automatic lights and bixenon headlights, but FROM NOW ON it is better to follow and do the electrical installation carried out in the Limalex thread. viewtopic.php?f=56&t=75241💎
The BCM will manage all the lights and offers the possibility of also being able to install Light Assist (HBA).
Starting at 7E0 937 090 B, it will allow you to install the tire pressure monitoring system, TPMS (RDKS in German).
BCM coding is different.
Developing these threads on uk-polos.net has been an evolutionary process as users posted their concerns or questions, also depending on what type of BCM was available at that time and the purpose of the user.
The Limalex thread has been the culmination of these processes, it is the reason why I went back to manufacturing one more wiring. I wanted to share it with everyone! it has my personal touch on how to do things.
Needless to say, these themes were previously developed on the 6R.
---
Those papers with scribbles of all kinds and oily fingerprints are always the most interesting, are an evolutionary process if carefully dissected.
I have some made by me in a safe place ... under seven locks.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Well the good news is...I've compared my notes against the new diagram you suggest from the Limalex thread, and that's (almost) exactly how I wired it, I just took a longer time to get there (I didn't know it existed at the time) - I was working on your Polo drawing for high beam assist and just picked up the correct high beam feeds to my headlights based on the ElsaWin diagrams. So the good news is I don't have to produce a high quality drawing for future reference as you've already done it
The other good news is, my foglights are all fully working again, after cleaning my rear cluster up the rear one is working again, and the front foglight issue was caused by a temporary wire having become disconnected from when I suspected my wiring/crimping was at fault. All returned to normal and all working correctly again
I just have the huge task of re-assembling the vehicle now, maybe I will get to drive it again in a few days...
Thank you for your support with this, and please send me some details so I can buy you a beer

Good morning Thekeymeister.
I sincerely appreciate your kindness, it is not necessary to transfer any money, ... knowing that the info posted (not in the best way) was useful to you is already a great satisfaction for me.
I had several beers on your behalf. Thanks a lot!

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Hi, I will thank all the experts.
I read almost the entire topic, but couldn't find the answer for my problem.
I retrofitted my T5 2014, R Line steering wheel with multifunction buttons. Everything works except the illumination buttons.
I bought a BCM 090D unit, the buttons are lit, but most other things don't work.
What do I need to adjust to make it work?
I'm not interested in automatic lights. I just want the button backlight to work.
Or can I buy a cable harness from someone here?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Hello padlo, welcome.
BCM 090 (Max) and 087 (High) from 2015-2016 onwards support backlighting for buttons on new MFSW models.
If you don't want automatic lights maybe you should buy a BCM High, it is a direct change/swap once you perform the coding/adaptation process as indicated on the ross-tech page (wiki) for the replacement of the BCM PQ25 (jetta).
The latest known models (2019-2020) for BCM 087 High are:
6R0937087AB / AD / AF ... 434 Mhz.
6R0937087AA / AC ... 315 Mhz.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
On the VW Caravelle facebook group, there was a guy who made some modifications in the steering wheel buttons themselves to make the illumination work, I think he soldered a wire in somewhere. I was lucky - my steering wheel (3C8 419 091BF) worked with illumination straight out of the box, with my original 087 BCM (from 2012), and also with the T6 090B BCM. Buttons are 3C8 959 537 D H06 0022 on mine.padlo wrote: ↑Sun Jun 13, 2021 8:35 pm Hi, I will thank all the experts.

Do you have an auto scan available? Post it on pastebin if you can't share it in the forum.

Hi Ciclo,
I don't know if you are still active in this thread, but I would like to ask you for help with my try to make my multivan T5 2015 use auto headlight feature. Car is factory equiped with Bi-xenon headlights, rain sensor and auto dimming mirror. Could you be so kind, and tell me if my BCM is good enough for retrofit? And after reading this thread, i still dont't understand fully if car with rain sensor on front windshield is already equipped with light sensor. thank you for your help and sorry for my english I'm not a native speaker

and the rain sensor ...

... it is also a light sensor.

Your T5 with Start/Stop system does not need most of the wires mentioned in this thread.
I'm going to take a look at erWin for your T5. Feb 2015.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
In fact and according to erWin diagrams, your T5 2015 with bixenon headlights (Original equipment) and Start/Stop system (7L6) should have a 10-pin light switch connector instead of a 17-pin one.
Basically you just have to install a new wire, from T10/2 to T73a/37, and a new light switch with the Auto function.
Code the BCM and enjoy the new Automatic lights function.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Yes, you can get the 3C8941431A. The 3C8941431C is front+rear fog. The ...A is front + rear fog + auto function. Should be perfectly fine.
Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
