petrol filling.. didn't know this DOH!

Post by grazuncle2 »

Just watched a YT video.. 5 things you didn't know about your VW and OMG!

I went and filled up the tank yesterday and as usual (because I didn't know any better) left the cap like this.

When in fact there is a place to put it and there is a plastic pin (25mm long?) on the end of the cap to fit in the hole in the Flap

your level-up in skills will occur when you mount your fuel tank cap in the filler in such a way that you can fuel up hands-free.
(don't try this at home)
(but who has a petrol station at home anyway?)

@grazuncle2; every day’s a school day 🙂. I always use the filler cap holder when I get petrol as it stops potential damage to the paintwork if the cap’s left dangling against the bodywork.

Maybe we should start a discussion thread on ‘things you’ve only just found out about your car’ 🤔. Some other forums have such a discussion thread.
