Weird central locking issue
Hi guys,
I have a Polo of year 2012, I have to insert the key to open all doors (no remote). When I turn the lock, the turn signal goes on like it should. When opening it does not (coding is correct).
However, boot doesn't open, before it used to open with the button inside, but now does not. Also, petrolcap only opens with the button inside. Sometimes the passenger door also stays locked.
What could this be? I already replaced the microswitch in the doormodule. But it almost seems like everything is failing? Scanning gives no error codes

Re: Weird central locking issue
Changed the tailgate latch/emblem today, issue still persists. No sound or anything when trying to opening it, fuses are okay. Anybody has a clue?

Re: Weird central locking issue
From what was mentioned it could be that the driver side central locking lock unit is failing, it seems that it is not sending the signals to the BCM correctly. It is possible that the other faults (tailgate/fuel filler flap/passenger door) are a consequence of this.
- Check or replace the driver lock unit with a new/second-hand one.
- Check that the wiring/connector on the driver lock unit looks good.

Re: Weird central locking issue
Thanks, however, I already changed the driver locking side actuator (the white thing with a big black connector that is right behind the key cylinder).
Nothing opens when inserting key, everything stays locked. Sometimes passenger door opens. Trunk doesnt unlock anymore, no matter what I do.
Fuel cap only unlocks with interior button

Re: Weird central locking issue
Experience here in the forum and experience in general terms, tells us that the lock unit must have the same reference number (or replaced reference - ETKA) as the one installed at the factory and be an original VW part (not aftermarket) to avoid problems.
What was the reason for replacing the lock unit? Did you install an original VW lock unit?

Re: Weird central locking issue
Because of the issues that were happening. Suspected the doorlock, replaced it. Will check numbers tomorrow.
Weird thing is, when I lock with the key I see the blinkers of locking. Opening with key, nothing happens. No blinkers, no confirmation or anything of opening

Ok.
Here you have the ETKA, remember that 'in this case' the production codes (Pr-codes) are very important.

Here are some photos of the original one. What should I look for specifically?

Re: Weird central locking issue
When I check the partnr 5k1837015d, I notice alot of other models also use this door module. So let's say I buy it from a Golf mk7 instead of Polo, could that cause issues? Or does it really need to be a 2 door polo?

Re: Weird central locking issue
You can buy the 'D' or 'H', I don't think you will have problems due to the donor car as long as it is an 'original' part, but I can't guarantee it 100%, you will have to take a chance.
What the hell did you install?

Re: Weird central locking issue
I installed one from Akabus. I bought a used one original typenr 5K1837015D same issue unfortunately. I bought one where the donor car was a polo exactly like mine, 3 doors.
Only driver door opens with key, rest stays closed. From inside the button only right door unlocks. Boot stays closed.
When I click again, so more than once, then the fuel cap opens. Trunk never unlocks
Autoscan no issues. When I try unlocking with actuation tests the rear does nothing, says parameter out of control. But I changed the emblem latch, still same. I do remember the failure didn't come instantly. It stopped opening by key, but did open with the button from inside. Now it does not open at all

Update, fixed!
I randomly tried to code it, and now everything works, through online coding
