Windscreen Wipers not working
Hi my wipers aren’t working in my polo 6C. It comes up on the dash and infotainment.
I have scanned the car with OBD and get fault code B189913 and B12D600
I have checked the wiper fuse in the car and it’s all fine.
The rear wiper works and I can hear the relay click when I press down for a single wipe so I’d assume it’s a problem with wipers themselves rather than the column switch.
Anyone get any ideas what it could be?
Many thanks

Re: Windscreen Wipers not working
probably a broken motor then since you ruled out most other things

Re: Windscreen Wipers not working
It has been common in 6C (and PQ26 family), and some forum users have reported, that the 'tracks' of the integrated circuit for 'switching/commutation' of the wiper lever to wear out prematurely causing erratic behavior in the operation of the wipers or they stopped working.
The usual solution was to change the stalk for a new one.
If you do a search on Google or YouTube you will find more related information.

Re: Windscreen Wipers not working
can you initiate front wiping function via diagnostic tool?
If you are going to but the motor separately, not that there is a specific position it has to be in when bolting the linkage

Re: Windscreen Wipers not working
I’ve done some more diagnostics and as soon as I clear module I immediately get error code voltage supply, terminal 30 for front wipers code B189913.
After going on live view I can see that when I click the stalk it is telling the module to do what it should be doing so I can eliminate that.
I’d assume it’s the motors then, if so how do i remove the scuttle panel?
Many thanks

Re: Windscreen Wipers not working
I’ve done that, however it says function cannot be performed, mess length or format incorrect. Although it says active when running the cycle.amer6R wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 2:21 pmmaybe check under bcm-> output tests

do you have option for live dataspotter_sam wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 3:25 pmI’ve done that, however it says function cannot be performed, mess length or format incorrect. Although it says active when running the cycle.
You go into live data and find the value for wiping. Then turn on wipers and check if the value is changing from 0.

Re: Windscreen Wipers not working
Given that have obd11, did you check live data, for the stalk position?

My guess is either the wiper motor or its wiring.
