I had the gti plus then the facelift. The plus had front fogs, the facelift did not. Tbh with the matrix leds and light bar at the front it didn’t need them.

Hi all,
I have another quick question for anyone else that's been lucky enough to get their Edition 25.

Have you been able to switch on the front and rear fog lamps independently of each other? e.g. one pull front fogs only, second position front and rear.

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but there is only one pull out position and it puts both front and back fogs on.

The in car and online manual suggests the standard two position system but I want to sense check here in case I'm missing something.

I may be wrong but I think I can remember reading on the forum (sorry, can’t remember who posted or if they’re still an active forum member) that those lights in the lower front grille on the facelift Polo GTI aren’t actually fog lights - they’re additional forward facing lights they come on with the headlamps. I’m assuming it’s the same with the ED25. Check to see if the front lower grille lights on your car are illuminated automatically when your headlamps are on without you switching your fog lamps on.

Hopefully forum member with either a facelift GTI or an ED25 can also confirm the above or otherwise.

Edit; just checked VW’s website and front fog lights aren’t listed as part of the GTI’s spec.

I love the red GTI highlights against the Reef Blue. My Polo is Flash Red so the highlights get lost on mine.

How are people finding the Ed25 now they’ve had them a while? Anyone got one that had the standard facelift gti? Do the leather seats help with comfort?

I personally think the suspension in the Polo GTI - ED25 or non-ED25 - will be the main influencing factor as far as comfort is concerned. I doubt the seat covering being leather in the ED25 will have much impact on comfort. In fact some cheaper leather is quite hard and not very compliant, so if VW have gone for cheaper leather in the ED25, the seats might not be as comfortable as the cloth seats in the non-ED25.

I’m personally not a fan of leather seats; if it was an extra cost option, I’d never spec it in a car;

• depending on the quality of the leather, it can get baggy and creased prematurely (this was an issue in mk6 Golf’s with leather seats).

• leather seats tend to get hot and sticky in summer unless they have a seat cooling function. Cold seats in the winter isn’t an issue these days as the majority of leather seats are heated.

• leather seats are not as grippy as cloth seats if driving enthusiastically on twisty roads.

The above is just my opinion though, so let’s see if an ED25 owner who also previously had a current generation non-ED25 GTI can give a real life comparison, although that might not happen as the forum does seem to be quite quiet these days…….

I've had quite a few cars with leather seats, my last S4 had Nappa leather which was very high quality, but I completely agree and would never willingly have a car with leather seats again for all the reasons that you mention

Oh completely agree, but having not seen an ed25 yet I was just curious if anyone was enjoying theirs and if the seats made any difference. I agree suspension makes a bigger difference but was more out of curiosity.

I’ve got the option of an ED25 (unlikely to go back to another polo gti) or a low mileage golf gti impending. Have to say the golf tempts me, thoroughly enjoying my wife’s golf at the moment and I want a golf gti before it’s too late. I’m 40 in March and I know I’ll regret it if I don’t do it, plus the Mazda is a good car but it’s boring as sin and not economical at all - my wife’s 1.5 tsi non hybrid golf is much more economical, my old polo gti was more economical, my 1.0 tsi troc was more economical and even my 130ps non hybrid 1.5 Tiguan was more economical as a bigger car. Mazda don’t know how to make reasonable economic engines.
