Magician tricks, just kidding.

Using the Ne-Tech app within the Ross-Tech program, by pasting the coding and loading the appropriate .lbl label. In this case, a special label modified by one of the usual magicians with the collaboration of other magicians for the Bit definitions.
There's also a small program to convert VCDS labels in the Ross-Tech program from .clb to .lbl and thus display the Bit definitions in Ne-Tech prg/app.

bit 6- locks all the doors via when lock cylinder in the door driver/passenger is turned?
I will disable these two bits tomorrow. ( They were like that for years).

I've been reading my old post when iichel helped me to retrofit the slip ring (6Q... one) when I coded it I couldn't access it via vcds.
Im not sure if that combo with abs 8.2i is making an issue. Maybe i should remove the slip ring from the power and try to reach abs module, also the, power steering pump module is no communication.
Anyway this isnt the issue of the boot lid & hazard light problem.

The problem isn't your BCM. You don't need to replace it.
By the way, your BCM 6R0 937 087F "PQ25 H+4 H46 0221" supports cruise control, meaning it has the necessary pins for CCS!!!

You must rewire your current G85 (6Q0.... D - ESP -) appropriately for it to work properly. It doesn't matter if your ABS module is for models without ESP.
We have done this retrofit on 6Rs similar to yours —ABS module, not ESP— without any problems. Perfect communication. We were the first to do this retrofit on the 6R. VW group applied it to the Seat Ibiza.
Observations:
- It is possible to install a G85 "6R0" with the appropriate "Stalks" on 'any' 6R. There used to be good second-hand deals for these two components.
- The CAN communication system can operate the components in a reduced condition, for example with one of the two wires damaged or cut.

G85, Five wires:
A good place to tap the powertrain CAN lines is from the instrument cluster wiring harness.
The other three wires needed are +15, +30, and ground. The ground wire may already be present in the T41 connector. You can run the positive signals/wires from fuse box to T41 connector.

Notes:
- Any electric/electronic components must be free of any moisture.
- Any electrical installation must be done with the proper automotive wiring and terminal crimping tools... especially if you plan to upgrade to a 9.0 ABS pump.
- The rear lid handle/release button (Emblem) gave problems on early 6Rs like yours from 2010/2011. The usual thing was to change it and it was solved.

I had it working - I could access abs brakes ( since i went into live data).

One thing i dont like, and im not sure if its making the problems.
I have branched off CAN HI, and Can Low one to T32 (Hi and Low)connector, and one to the BCM 73b (white one) Pins 18, 19.

Basically im doubling my G85 singal (meaning i have G85- Hi low connected to back of the cluster, and hi low connected down at the bcm)

I will disable the power to G85 and try to reach the abs module, and recode those two thingys and report back.

For me, it's like looking at extraordinarily simple things; I don't mind trying to help a forum user with over 1,200 posts.

There's no problem with having multiple/two 'paths' for the CAN lines leading to a component; the signals received at the components won't be 'echo-duplicated'...

It doesn't make any sense to have two paths for a component... it increases the likelihood of failure due to improper installation at some point of the wires.
The important thing is that they're properly connected, without the usual botched jobs due to lack of resources, savings, difficulties, or laziness... or obtaining benefits by optimizing...
Any good automotive electrician should know that you should NEVER solder automotive wires. ALWAYS use crimp terminals.
A vehicle is not a TV or PCB

, it moves, vibrates, etc...

I didn't bother looking at that 2021 thread you started, for me, what matters is NOW.

Hi,
I have changed coding as you suggested. The byte 7, bit 6 wasn't visible for me at all but i edited hex value.

Also byte 0, bit 6 has no description but i unchecked it.
Also byte 3, bit 1,2,3 i disabled because i have no sunroof

I will remove Byte 15 bit 7 for heated rear window. So now i dont have a fault code for open window.

I have removed power to slip ring. We still dont have acess to the ABS nor the power steering pump.

Boot lid still not working.
I returned the power to slip ring now i have
Malfuncion 0010 on 44 Steering assist. Cant reach it.
I think i should source a new bcm. What do you think?

I have tried sending GND from battery lid connector to pin 2 signal (purple white) bcm.
Latched lock, extension in pin 2, other end tapping on Neg battery terminal. - nothing.

So to me it seems like.
1.) Bcm is seeing the signal but not responding ( I have no way of knowing since there is no rear lid in advanced mesurments) But physically i know the wire toward bcm is good.

2.) Signal is always on and the bcm decides to do nothing.

I think i will get this bcm 6R0937087K, its 40E and its from 2012. A bit newer than mine... should outlive mine by two years ahahah
( I will just get pissed if it doesnt fix the lid issue). After all of this troubleshooting).

If you want to experiment with another BCM, try to find a 6R0937087AF or AD or AC or AB, nothing is guaranteed but with these BCMs at least there are improvements in the SW.

If I were you, I would also buy another G85 "6R0" slip ring (6R0959654) with the appropriate Stalks (with CCS).

Double-check the additional CAN lines you installed for that G85.
The +15 and +30 signals are important; I'm assuming you can differentiate between them on your 6R...

I've searched for those double letter bcms, nothing came back on local market place.

I went and grabbed this one

Im not sure about these gray marks, but the seller gave 15 day warranty. ( doesnt smell burnt, smells normal)
Most of these part cars come from eu or uk. None from india or russia.

I will have to remove the instrument cluster, to check the can high/low lines where i spliced into. The bcm ones i heat shrunk yesterday.
And i will test with this BCM so we will see...
Today is definitely a rest day even if its a 5 min job to swap the bcm.

If this goes as planned ( fixes lid issue) im hunting down stalks with g85.

Ciclooo my man! I have positive news the lid unlocking now Works with new BCM!!!

I have a few coding issues I dont know how to disable SAFE LOCK. I didnt have it, and it think Gateway still thinks the par has parking sensors ( system for paralelnparking)
Will upload scans later.

--- Abs no comm still ( i think its probably dead or somewhere brake, i will have to investigate).

I cleaned everything with contact cleaner left to dry before assembly ( headlight connector, trunk boot connectors for safety).

Maybe i forgot to clear all DTC-s from being happy the lid works

I think when i started the car, and turned it off i didn't see the SAFE LOCK message. ( just to be sure is there a way to disable it? or is it the first time deal).

One more thing. To anyone that might experience this issue the purple white wire is also can be find behind the bonnet release/ footrest, trim that runs all the way to the back of the car ( for you to probe).

For abs module, I will have to get a test light. What im not sure is why did the BCM die in the first place.
I've also checked the can hi, low where i tapped in the back of the cluster connector it looks perfect! I also heat shrunk it.

I always have a bit of difficulty adding new remote but i got it in the end end it works. ( checked with lowered windows first ahahha).

/Maybe the brake in the wire and moisture chaused open signal all the time making the bcm fail. - I dont know the reason why

Once I've reviewed your BCM installation procedure, this should be your final BCM coding:

It's rare that it's not fully accepted (out of range). If so, review and modify the Byte HEX values one by one. (only two or three)

The new BCM bugs should be fixed, including the SAFE LOCK message.
The old permanent failures on unreachable units will logically continue.

Clear All DTCs should be performed as often as necessary when doing anything with the VCDS. Often, it's also necessary to perform an ignition cycle to verify the clearing of stored DTCs.
In extreme cases, or on older vehicles, it may even be necessary to disconnect the negative battery terminal, or even perform the trick of disconnecting both terminals and 'joining' them together (momentarily) to eliminate any trace of electricity.

Parasites or Symbionts:

I don't know what type of radio (Android) you have installed, but some of these NON-OEM parasites (not all) were causing significant errors in the CAN communication lines. This may be your problem with the 03, 44 communication.

Definitely opt for the CCS, provides remarkable driving comfort. You'll like it!

Yes the radio could possible be since it has canbus decoder it might be causing issues.
When I unplug it we will see.

I hope this topic might be useful for someone in the future.
(the hazard light issue is also been solved with bcm swap)
