Since we had the car, December 2018 we've done 4,245 miles, it goes on a long trip once in a blue moon. I keep a record of the mileage and how much fuel I use, by necking the fuel and working the MPG to the nearest 0.00 of a gallon. Its a SEL 115 DSG, I'm not a speed merchant, and neither is the Mrs.
The best I've got is 48.06 MPG, and just lately it's been down to 38.3. Just after that I had to go on a 70 mile round trip, without really stopping. Since then I filled up and since then the fuel gauge has hardly moved though I've done near on 100 miles.
It seems that whether you have a diesel with a DPF or a petrol with what ever, petrol engine cars require a long journey to clear out the filter. People think it's only diesel engines that have filter problems, how wrong they are.
It's all nice to have modern technology, but it does have it's draw backs
And as for all electric cars by 2023 , now the government tell us, just don't cut it. It been estimated that we will require 25 million charging points, that's 4,000 a day starting yesterday!
