lol cool pic, but what is it with this wave of cruelty to mk2's all of a sudden? they should try that on the M25, rather than clearing the crashed cars, park 'em by the side and turn it into a plant pot, changing rooms style

Spanish?

I was going to say East German til I saw the sea and realised it was all deserty... they do that kind of thing with dead old cars a lot there. Particularly Trabants, as they're unique amongst pre-90s cars in that it's almost always the mechanicals that fall apart first whilst the bodies carry on unscathed (its all plastic & glassfibre stuff y'see). Das Grunehausen "Trabi" are quite common :D

I'd consider it, though its definately a case of removing the reg plate, VIN, and scrubbing away all the engine/chassis numbers and glass etchings first if you were to try it in britain.

How long do you think the hubcaps will last on that thing before being robbed?

edit: it also wouldn't fly in britain because that bonnet support is a deathtrap even when you're working on the car and purposefully avoiding it.... imagine kids playing around that and knocking it out of place!

I remember the boat plant pot, as well as the giant wheelbarrow on some roundabout locally. So all we need is an empty roundabout and we're sorted.

there's plenty round my way that have floral bits and bobs but would be easy enough to get a car up, with a couple of sturdy bits of wood (but impossible to get down without them).

you'd certainly make the papers :)

i have been wondering actually if there's something about polos that attracts spiders, mine usually has one or two onboard, but sitting still it seemed to be over-run... actually found a little foam-nest thing with eggs in whilst washing it at the weekend! (and took care to wipe around it ... it was inside of the hatchback seal at least)
