twas me! :P

, I had the same problem on the lupo. same engine 1.4 AFK which uses the throttle cable. they replaced this in late 2000/2001 with the AUB engine which is drive-by-wire.

much perfer the cable throttle as you get no delay from pressing the pedal to getting the throttle response that you get in the early dwb engines!

what i can't figure out is why it sometimes makes a roar and sometimes it doesnt, most the time it just sounds normal

occasionally when i drop it in to fourth and boot it i get a huge roar, which sounds totally amazing, but then when i do exactly the same thing again i get no roar really...it's strange

Sounds like your using the original intake pipe from the wing. Throw this away as its well restrictive.

This is true.

I found some decent piping at last, so finally got rid of my original intake pipe from the wing last night. Sounds about 10x better now, feels slightly better too :)

do you have a pic of what your using now?

i still need to sort it out on mine.
no point in taking the original pipework out if you've just got a pipe stuck in the engine bay sucking in hot air.

And no, the oil crankcase breather pipe does not feed back into the BMC filter it just looks that way on this pic :)
