Budget Coilovers

Post by jay_666 »

Which budget coilovers would you recomend for about £250?

In the back of PVW there's a shop called perfomance solutions with some for £239, called speedbox suspension.

There's also the venom ones for £245, but it think there all the same, just branded different :?

Any others i should look at?

Cheers

Also, i plan on fitting them myself, as i dont have £150 spare for a garage to do them.

Anything i should watch out for or replace while im messing with suspension?

Has anyone ever fitted coilies themselves on here?

Basically, tell me everything i should know

Get the Philj ones their awsome, but u have to wind them all the way down though

Fitting them is easy, its pritty self explanitrey, their are two bolts at the bottom of the strut (suspension) undo them, then under the bonnet you have your top cap things, you'll prob need a 21mm spanner and a 17mm allen key to undo it, then the strut should drop out, on the strut you might need to take the thrust bearing off, so you'll need spring clamps.
It's not a hard job at all very easy, just make sure when you take the bearing from the strut clamp down the suspension properly beacuse if not it will fire miles as i found out, and it hurts!! specially when it just misses your b*******s.

hope that helps mate
