Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
I am sincerely sorry, but I will not repeat what I have already written, nothing can be done if you ignore the help already provided.
I encourage you to read my help posts with a little more interest, solving all those faults is really easy.
BCM coding does not come from old BCM, and a long etc...
Merry christmas! ...
Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Hello Ciclo the Lightbringer,
I recently bought Multivan T5 with manual light switch and it is a nightmare (I already run out of battery few times). I read this thread a few times and I think I know what to do. But please would you be so kind and help me with coding a bit ? My current situation is that I swapped BCM from 7H0937087D to 7E0937090 (donor car, I had trouble to find new for reasonable price), run new wires from main fuse box and CAN wires to instrument cluster. And before I continue with RLS and automatic headlight I want to be sure that the new BCM is coded properly.
Old BCM autoscan https://pastebin.com/3BpwdNn9
There are some known errors.
- J364 - webasto unit is working but control unit not responding. I know about it and it is ok for now. Although it is very strange behavior.
- J503, J401 - I removed the original radio but I did not uncheck it from installation list yet.
- Airbag - I have removed drivers seat
- Air quality - I'm waiting for new sensor
- Second error in HVAC - it seems that is related also to J364
New BCM scan https://pastebin.com/hM28BWxq
I coded CAN Gateway same as the old one. Also I unchecked unneeded records from installation list.
I tried to transfer all of the values from old BCM to new one to be same. But apparently there is something wrong.
This error is ok
- bulb for licence plate - I read how to solve it in this thread
Otherwise it looks ok, BUT there are some errors not presented in auto scan. Which is weird ?
Error from CAN gateway - Control Module Incorrectly Coded.
Error in module called Battery regulator. I did not have visible this module before and it cannot be unchecked in installation list. I tried to locate J367 control unit and I don't have it. It seems that this is related to start-stop system but I don't know how to disable it (I have unchecked everything related to start-stop in BCM long coding). Maybe this is also reason for the Control Module Incorrectly Coded in CAN gateway.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
enable 61 in installation list, set the coding of the module to all 00, and then remove it again from gateway list. that will clear the errors for the BEM
Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Thank you! It does the trick. I forgot to check the coding of this module. It does not allow me to set 00 everywhere, but there were combobox with option that I don't have installed the regulator and I also unchecked other start-stop related options. So CAN gateway no longer shows incorrect coding error and module 61 disappears from the list.
Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
I made some progress with installation. I created all the wirings and plug it into bcm, fusebox, light switch, etc. I have double checked everything, but I'm stuck with this issue:
It seems that it is somehow related to RLS sensor. The sensor is not visible in subsytem of bcm (I have checked other scans on this thread and everybody has it). If I unplug the sensor than this error disappears and it will show new error - Light and Rain Recognition Sensor no signal/communication.
I don't know If my coding is correct or if there is a problem somewhere else. The sensor is connected to T73b/24.
Otherwise it seems that the lights are working, but I'm not able to fully check it with this error. I do have H7 with front fog lights.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Check the wiring.
Although I am not sure that your RLS sensor can be recognized by your new BCM. (2005!, seems too old)
Alternatives that will surely work with your BCM 7E0:
RLS
- 1K0955559AH, square shape. (-->2014 - T5, 6R, etc)... take a test with this one.
- 5K7955559B or C, round shape. (2015--> - T6, etc)
RLHS
- 5K7955547 round shape. (e-UP)
BCM coding for the RLS is fine, the RLS must also be coded once recognized by BCM.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
I thought they are interchangeable. Every shop have them as compatible, but may be they are only backward compatible with older revisions not in opposite direction.
Wiring should be ok, I tested everything with multimeter and insulation tester. So I have ordered a new one with AH revision and I will hope for the best . Thank you for your help.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
I agree with you, there are many parts marked as compatible, but then... it is best to stick to what is established in the ETKA.
RLS software and possible functions have evolved quite a bit in the last 20 years, however, AH will work for the functions you want to achieve.
Hmm... installing a 2005 part on a 2011 VW with a retrofitted 2015 BCM is pushing the envelope a bit... right?
Without a doubt, humans are a successful species, there is always someone testing the least likely options, ... to infinity and beyond.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Yes, there are endless possibilities for errors
I have installed new RLS sensor at it works. Now I have done all the electric installation except reverse lights. And almost everything works except DRLS and high beam (but flash works).
AUTO switch - same as in 0 position. When I cover the sensor nothing happens.
Low beam turner by light switch - OK
High beam - NOK wont turn on, indicator does not shows up
High beam flash - OK with indicator
Parking lights - OK
Licence plate lights - OK
Front fog - OK
Rear fog - OK
Blinkers/Hazard - OK
Dimmer - seems OK (I don't know how should it work exactly)
I have double checked all the electric installation and I think that everything is correct. I will check it once more to be sure.
Maybe there is just problem with the coding ? I'm lost in this part a little bit. I just looked at the coding what have others and tried to replicate it for by bcm.
Here is latest full scan. No new errors shows up.
However I encountered a strange issue when module 19-J533 shows that module is incorrectly coded and module 6E - J702 shows something with can diagnostics. I have checked the wirings diagram and the diagnostic cables are connected to the bcm. But this error disappears after I cleaned it and sadly I didn't save it. Maybe it has something to do with the transition to bcm max. I will keep eye on it if it appears again.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
I seem to remember that the Rain Closing function does not work with square-shaped sensors (AH), only with the newer round-shaped sensors and WRMs with software for folding mirrors (I don't remember exactly all the compatibilities, I wrote it here in the forum ), I got it working https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOOTwodRdTo but finally disabled it.
That is, in your case neither of the two possible circumstances are met for it to work.
Since I don't know the electrical installation you have done and there are two possible configurations of electrical installations, try the following BCM codings:
1-Electrical installation (-->2014, ...with relay for automatic lights)
20F0F93A4A21301201288E007CEB8ED40718610F60842941300400020000
2- Electrical installation (2015-->, ...with T73b/8 for HB)
20F0F93A4A21301201288E007CEB8ED40718610F60842940300400020800

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
You are a true master. After the coding everything works. I have done installation by your instructions at the beginning of the thread with light relay.
May I have a few more questions, please?
- I turned on lamp diagnostic for all of the bulbs. Is it really working even for classical bulbs ?
- I had strange problem with MFSW. I have aftermarket buttons (I think that they are crap) connected to +30 signal. And the buttons did not respond until I manually unplug and plug them when ignition is on. I tried to connect them to LIN 36 (with the new bcm) but it wont help. So I connect them to +15 signal and they are working stable now. Do you think that it is ok ? According to electrical diagram they should be connected to +30. I will try to find some original in future.
- I still have a problem with incorrect coding, but I dont know what can be wrong. The error is stable now, it appears everytime. Maybe it is because I removed original radio ? I tried to remove it from installation list but the error is still there. I didnt find what it really means.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
Lamp diagnosis works for all types of light bulbs. It depends on the coding and the dataset (parametry) established at the factory for the lighting configuration of the vehicle where the BCM is going to be installed. The parameters of the BCM PQ25 can be modified with VCP.
You can check the operation of the diagnosis by removing the bulbs, taking into account that the coding must be appropriate.
There was confusion in the definition of the Bit for lamp diagnosis on the VCDS labels for BCM PQ25, try the opposite in case of doubt.
At first the multifunction steering wheel buttons were connected to +30 but later to +15.
It is not compatible to have MFSW + Stalk for the trip computer at the same time.
Regarding the radio, I don't know what's happening to you, once unchecked from the GW installation list it should no longer appear.
Maybe it's related to Address 10 ...
... or other control unit.

Re: Auto headlight retrofit. VW Transporter. T5 (2010-2015)
And so... after reading 44 pages... I ask for help...
I believe our case is not detailed (put please correct me if I am wrong, or stupid, or both!)
We have a T5.1 2013 7EM Multivan/Caravelle (as called here in the UK) it is specifically a highline executive. Now in difference to most of this thread I wonder is we have from the factory the H7/H15 "Twin Head Light" or I have seen it referenced by Osram as "Double Head Lamps"
We have already in the vehicle 7H0937090B BCM PQ25. And from the factory the 10pin light switch connector. Good News or so I believed. It also has automatic wipers and rain sensor from the factory.
From this post: viewtopic.php?p=585539#p585539 I believed it was possibly an easy install, new cable from BCM T73/a Pin 37 to T10 Pin 2, code with VCDS and add the 3C8941431A switch. Which was all completed with ease. However the bad news... No Automatic Lights .
No fault codes in VCDS scan. Coding for BCM is currently B8F2793A0A612413932089706EAB9ED40780602F7E844841320003020000
Function on the vehicle is when the switch is turned to 'Auto', it illuminates orange but the lights do not come on automatically only the DRL comes on as if the lights are in the off position. The switch acts exactly as the "non auto" version IN THAT . Could you also advise all compatible switch numbers so we can isolate this as a switch issue potentially? However I doubt the switch is at fault. As I understand the switch is only a signal are we missing something else?
Or do we need to make a modification like iichel suggests here: viewtopic.php?p=593084#p593084
ciclo, iichel and others I need some help please?
