Permanent Dash Cam
Permanent Dash Cam
Hi all, just wondering if anyone has permanently installed a dash cam to their car. If so, where have you picked the power up from? TIA

Re: Permanent Dash Cam
Yes, I have. It's on a guide somewhere on this forum. My Thinkware F770 front and back set has 2 live feeds, a permanent live (for parking monitoring) and a switched live (for driving), each feeding off a different fuse.sc-red wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2020 5:15 pm Hi all, just wondering if anyone has permanently installed a dash cam to their car. Does yours have parking monitoring mode with car battery management so that the cameras will shut off if the car battery drops to a certain voltage threshold? If not, you'll only require a switched live feed.
Switched fuse to use = F55 (cigarette lighter socket).
Permanent live fuse to use = F6 (central locking).
If you look up thread "dashcam cable routing" you'll see my installation guide with plenty of photos if you need some guidance.
Re: Permanent Dash Cam
Thanks for the info. Not purchased the cam yet but was thinking of getting a permanent powered cam for added security as per yours. I’ll go search the thread as you’ve noted and see where things go from there.monkeyhanger wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2020 5:21 pmYes, I have. It's on a guide somewhere on this forum.
