Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
Hello,
I am retrofitting LED headlights with AFS on my 6R 1.2 TSI Comfort edition 2013. For this I made a BCM swap after reading forum. I went from my original BCM 7H0937090 to 7E0937090C. When purchasing BCM, I did not pay attention to whether they are suitable for LED headlights. I would like to know if that is not the case what needs to be changed to make it suitable. I have read that something needs to be changed in the EEPROM. Can someone tell me what exactly needs to be changed?
For the rest, the BCM swap had gone well. Only took over the codes and learn my keys. Not having to pull any wire. Original BCM does have a little more pins.
I must wait on materials like connectors etc. for AFS and putting the headlights in the car.
I have VCDS and ODIS-S and E.
Autolights I installed many years ago and RLS is installed from factory.

PWM Value with POS/TFL lights and activited Pos-lights
PWM Value with POS/TFL lights and activited DRL-lights
Read here https://www.drive2.ru/l/489696641561919499/
I think I remember that the AFS unit needs the parameterization for LED headlights.
In the Russian forum there is a custom file. Look for the CNK LED headlights and that thread will find a link to the file with the parameters.
I also think I remember that the pinout between the AFS unit and the LED headlight connectors is different than for bi-xenon headlights.

Re: Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
Does your car now have bi-xenon or H7 headlights?

Re: Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
I have checked website, thanks for information. It looks like I need VCP but firtst I gonna try with ODIS E. I think that AFS module is alright because the partnumber is 6R0907357. What I have seen so far is that AFS wiring is the same as with bi xenon only the adapter from 10p halogeen to 14p led connector is different than bi xenon.
Now I have H7 headlights.
Now I have H7 headlights.

Re: Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
With ODIS E it can't be done. I ordered VCP for change parameters.

Re: Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
Today I finally received all parts for installing the headlights.
AFS: left headlight is working, right headlight motor moves but headlight doesn't go up or down (I think internally loose).
LED Headlights:
First, I tryed without wires from headlight pin 10, 12 and 14.
I changed the coding to this: 3CB02FF868E32400B3380FB8FCAA0ED1DBC073BF608670D1A00000030000
What happened:
-DRL/parking lights working but flickering
-Low beam working with lamp diagnose off and with lamp diagnose on it was flickering. When driving low beam goes off after about 5 sec maybe longer and when I turned the switch off and on again the lights go on
-High beam worked but when I turned high beam on than the right headlight low beam goes off till high beam was off.
After all wires connected with list below:
LED connector left.
1 - AFS
2 - AFS
3 - AFS
4 - AFS
5 - Massa - Halogen connector pin 5
6 - Low beam - Halogen connector pin 6
7 - Massa - Halogen connector pin 5
8 - 12V - Halogen connector pin 1 (also try with directly 12V)
9 - Turnlight - Halogen connector pin 9
10 - LED module - T73b/5 LED pulse
11 - High beam - Halogen connector pin 8
12 - LED module - T73b/3 TFL
13 - Empty
14 - LED module - T73b/28
LED connector right
1 - AFS
2 - AFS
3 - AFS
4 - AFS
5 - Massa - Halogen connector pin 5
6 - Low beam - Halogen connector pin 6
7 - Massa - Halogen connector pin 5
8 - 12V - Halogeen pin 1 (also try with directly 12V)
9 - Turnlight - Halogen connector pin 9
10 - LED module - T73b/6
11 - High beam - Halogen connector pin 8
12 - LED module - T73a/5
13 - empty
14 - LED module - T73b/56
The following happenes:
-DRL/parking lights stayes off
-Low beam works without flickering only with ignition on, when car starts the lights go out after about 3 sec and don't go on again so long car still running
-High beam works
When I change byte 18 to 67 (Xenon) than low beam is working all the time, high beam works, and DRL/parking lights are still off.
What is wrong? I checked and don't changed the following parameters with original VCP:
-PWM Value with POS/TFL lights and activated Pos-Lights 28
-PWM Value with POS/TFL lights and activated DRL-Lights 100
-PWM frequency for the activation of the LED driver of one combined LED TFL/PO light module 100
Hopefully someone nows the answer.

well, yes and no. i probably wrote the guide you're using and I did it myself, so on a technical level, yes.
but right now i'm just too busy to really go deep into this, i'm sorry.

Okay np. I used indeed your great guide.
I take a deep look in the wiring diagrams and hopefully I find it but I think it's something different.

Re: Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
You can first verify all the wiring. Then next step is coding.

Re: Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
Headlights working now. I saw in the electrical drawings that there must be a yw/bk wire from SB11 to T73a/44. There was a bn/bk wire in it. I take that out and isolate the terminal and take a new wire for it.
I can't find the bn/bk wire in schematic. Someone now what it is originally? The low beam stayed on now (also with byte 18 to 73).
After this the parking light/DRL still not working. Pin 8 from LED headlight connector, I connected this back to T10/1 from halogen headlight connector.
I didn't realise that this problem has something to do with coding.
I find coding topic for OEM Xenon from Iichel and change the following:
No flickering etc. all is working now. I'm verry happy with this.
Maybe someone coud explane me for learning what the following bits meaning:

Re: Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
I have still one problem with the headlights. While driving both headlights on low beam, both headlights goes out with low beam after a short time.
When take the foot from gas pedal the low beam lights go out.

Re: Polo 6R BCM Swap for LED headlights
I saw original xenon headlights has a 2.5mm2 wire for low beam and h7 headlights 1mm2 from T73a/2 and T73b/2 too pin 6 headlight connector.
I replace wire with 2.5mm2 but there was no difference.
I discovered the battery in the car was the wrong one.
I changed in Battery Management EFB battery too wet battery and also in adaption channel 4 68aH too 45aH.
So far so good. I made a little test drive and the lights stayed on. Now I gonna order the right battery.
Edit: low beam still go off but not so often. Now I turned byte 16 bit 0 (low beam via PWM) off and the low beam lights stayed on finally. In the past with aftermarket xenon I had same problem. I think this is also solution for aftermarket xenon in H7 headlights.
