Does anyone know if there's a better way to get the inside "foamy" trim off (once you've got the plastic door inside off, with the door handle, tray etc.) than my local VW dealer managed?
Here's how they got the drivers side liner off to replace the window winder mechanism and motor:


I don't see any other way of getting it over the white caps.
My passenger window's now knackered so I want to take a look but didn't want to wreck the liner.
And does anyone have any experience of fixing a window that refuses to go up or down? I know it might be something to do with a clip or bracket that may have snapped (due to door slammage!) but without taking a look I'm just guessing.
And of course I'm really reluctant to take it to a dealership and be fleeced unless absolutely necessary!
