I got the following reply:

Re: VW Original Parts - Lowering Springs Kit
Hi AJ_7, I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing however I'm unsure which one to purchase? you mentioned the 3 different weights... but which one would suit a 1.4 SEL?
Cheers!

I made a thread on this a few months back. However, I booked the car in and they checked the brakes etc and took the car for a run. They couldn't find any problems with it so I assume there's nothing to worry about.

Re: Clunking noise when reversing.
I doubt It's anything to worry about.
Every single Vdub I had owned with disc brakes on the back has done it. When brakes get wet, discs start to oxidise and pads "stick" to disks. As the car starts to move the brakes unstick there's a "Clunk" from the back, don't know why but it's always worse ...

I am pretty worried about this as it is a brand new car and it should not be happening! . However I am going to ...

LJG,
I'm also interested in fitting the GTI grill to my SEL. What would your plans be with removing the gti badge? would you replace it with something else, remove it completely or..?

Re: Newbie. SEL 1.4 3 dr
Hi AJ_7, thanks
Very nice! I would of preferred the 1.2 TSI however funds couldn't stretch that far and also the insurance would of been sky high since I'm just a young'un.
I will go have a look
Thanks.

Hi folks,
Been browsing on this site for a while and finally decided to become a member.
Purchased a brand new SEL 1.4 Candy white 3 door with 17" boavista alloys a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. (Should get some pics up tomorrow). :D
