Mine is fine but reverse is becoming tempremental, even if you wait for the gears to spin down after disengaging first it still crunches into reverse :(
Both my Lupo (even when new) does it, and my Polo does it.
What you need to do it lift off the clutch, then engage it a second time.
Even the ...

Only thing is tho, when it goes pop youll be stranded.

Youll need to get your car home, and then youll need to get it to a garage.

lol they are turning the same RPM as the wheels and your hubs mate!

Meant to say that there is more material spinning inbetween the pads, meaning there is more time between the same area of the disk being in contact with the pads.

Also to add.
Your calipers are the same size, as are ...

I agree with you, a few mill wont make a massive difference.
Im talking about bigger discs in general, it's all about the calipers having more leverage over the turning mass of the wheels.

Take a really tight nut for example, if you use a long spanner it will take less force to undo the nut.

This ...

Of course the car will stop quicker if the disks are bigger. It makes less work for the calipers, simple common sense will tell you that.

Also the very same reason it will reduce brake fade, and improve feel.

You can buy Torx drivers to fit a ratchet from Halfords.

Try using just a ratchet, should be adequet but if it's not you can slide a length of metal pipe over for more leverage.

Sounds like you could have warped your new set of disks then.

1) Avoid cheap disks

2) Dont sit in Traffic with your foot on the brake after heavy braking
