He is pushing for a full refund of the winter pack cost as a gesture of goodwill!! I am not sure VW know what that is, but the dealer has been great. He did me a video so I will try and put it on here
Barry stop complaining about the winter pack, I’ve watched the video and yours has come with cardboard in it to keep you warm in winter, mine didn’t have this option on arrival 😁

That was good, recycling old boxes, the transporter people must raid Costco etc, why didn't VW place some funky thick paper mats in there, save these boxes bashing up against the seat base trim.

Start praying that these threatened giant hailstones don't come you way!

Do you have a link to this German website?
Bear in mind that the bolt pattern (PCD) of the wheels fitted to the Polo is 5x100, which is different to the majority of other current VW cars. Most VW’s have wheels with a PCD of 5x112 (the up! and Touareg are different; their wheels have a PCD of 4x100 and 5x130 respectively). This does mean that you see fewer genuine VW alloy wheels for sale that will fit the Polo than you do for, say, the Golf.

This might be the German website that monkeyhanger was referring to;

https://www.kunzmann.de/shop/en/

They specialise in Mercedes (incl AMG) / Smart (incl Brabus) and VAG branded items. They do have Brescia alloys for sale (€1,299 /approx £1,154 for a set of 4), but they’re 19” for the Golf with a 5x112 bolt pattern. They have only three sets of alloys for the (previous generation) Polo, which also has a PCD of 5x100.
It was on a VW official website, actually 249 Euros a pop, but it is an enquiry rather than buy it now https://shops.volkswagen.com/en_GB/web/ ... 98--fzz-14

I had got thinking that maybe these were on Golf style 112mm hole configurations, seeing as when you spec them they come with "customised installation", the customised installation being Golf hubs for a Golf/Passat wheel hole. Looking at the above link though, it does seem that they are on 100mm hole spacing.

I hope it is not Seth Effrican cardyboard, maybe full of nasty insects and poisonous spiders.
Anyway the way the weather is going we wont need a winter pack

Yes , Andy the salesman is great . He is very straightforward and honest and we have a good laugh together. He is as annoyed at VW as we are. He showed me the dealers list of orders that they are struggling to fulfill , and his Polo Gti( well a demo for him) has been put back to October despite a January order.
Monday is a lovely day anyway for me as I am retired!
Full report on the car coming when I have chance to wade through the handbook and use it.
Not even bothered that is has started raining, my garden is parched.

Sounds like Andy will have one of the first WLTP certified Polo GTIs - might be interesting to comoare yours to his and see what has changed apart from any obvious non running equipment equipment additions or deletions.

Just hoping my delivery (Wednesday) isn't put back because of payment delays. Gave my Audi A1 over to the local dealership last night and group buyer had said money will be in the bank Monday. Branch manager of used sales says money won't be paid until Tuesday, and VW dealership want paying Monday.

Yes the bit about Andy's car rang a bell. I am going to ask him what the spec is compared to ours and also if the price has risen. It has already gone up £400 since I ordered. I am sure he will give me the facts.

Finally collected my car yesterday. Dealer sorted out the earlier issue with the wheels. The car is lovely. I've only driven 50 miles (non motorway) since I picked it up but, so far, it's better than I'd hoped it would be.

Booking the car in for rear window tinting on Monday.
