Polo 6c Composition touch possible rear camera retrofit

i have this unit to my 6C MY2016






I wonder if I can install a rear camera. Not the original, any aftermarket camera.

So i have to retrofit another unit before procced with this installation.



Those are the choices from the ETKA, composition COLOR and composition MEDIA

The PR code KA0 is without rear camera system and the KA1 is with rear camera system. I don't know if the unit with PR Code KA0 is capable to manage rear camera.


If I install one of these, will I be able to fit a regular (non VW) cam afterwards and what would I need? (perhaps some signal converter, etc.)

Most of the aftermarket camera systems will have a cinch tulip connector, those will work with an oem mib head unit yes. I think it's pal 50hz for the signal but I'm nog 100% sure.

Thank you, i appreciate this. The connector is not going to be a problem, I didn't know if any device was needed to connect the camera to the Head Unit.

To summarize, I'm going to upgrade to a unit with color screen, buy a camera with an RCA connector and install it. Of course it will require some programming of the Head Unit to make it work.
I will search about the type of signal, i think is NTSC.

Okay, so this is good news. I'm seriously considering going with a used composition color unit. And the only reason is because I want to install a rear camera.

The Pr Code KA1 is for Rear View Camera (type1)
For sure this unit can have rear camera.
What Type1 is ? I mean what kind of camera i should buy ?

I'm not sure what type 1 means. In my experience, a most of aftermarket camera's with a 2-wire signal will work. I haven't seen one that didn't so far.

The camera described as Low Line

I can't find any other information about resolution and the TV system type ( i think it is NTSC).

Anyone has any other information about that ? I am willing to buy something like that :
