While I'm at it - Rear Badge Painting?
I thought while I'm in spraying mode, I might as well spray my rear badge to go with my wheels etc. I know how to remove the rear badge, but I'm wondering how to separate the silver "VW" from the plain grey background I've got. My plan is to paint the grey background the same colour as my ...

Excellent! Thanks for putting my mind at rest, Ash. When they are painted and fitted, I'll post a picture up!

Re: Hmm, nice fox alloys but what about the tyres?
Lol, again, after removing aload of muck, it says the ET is 35. I'm *super paranoid* these aren't going to fit on my polo! That's why every number I see I keep having to check it with you guys!

Re: Lowering a 9n3 on 17" Alloys.
Looking at this, I think I would rather save up and get the coilovers - I'm guessing they are better for your car, last longer and have that added advantage, like you say, of being able to adjust how low you want. I can see myself buying a set of springs then thinking "oh, I wanna go lower"...

Re: Hmm, nice fox alloys but what about the tyres?
Ahh! Thanks for that dude, the diagram helps too. I'm guessing there must be a width which is too wide for a polo? I don't want it to rub on the arches.

Re: Hmm, nice fox alloys but what about the tyres?
Sorry to bring this thread back up again, but I've just been cleaning the alloys and on the back (under all the muck) it says 7j. Now, I now it means something, but don't know what? If anyone could explain...And if it does mean something important, can I still order 195/55/15 tyres to go on them as ...

Anyone ever refurbished their own?
So I began the long process of refurbing my alloys the other night - and I'm confused now, do you sand right the way to the bare metal? Or just to the primer that was already there? I've kind of stopped at the primer level, as I'm unsure to go any further. I was surprised because the kerbing that I ...

Re: Hmm, nice fox alloys but what about the tyres?
My stock tyres that I have on at the moment are 165/70/14 - this is what the link tells me with the different sized tyres that you spoke of : From stock to 195/55/15 the speedometer would be 1.5% too slow (so at 60mph reading I am actually doing 60.9mph - no big E) From stock to 195/50/15 the speedo...

Re: Hmm, nice fox alloys but what about the tyres?
So, am I correct in thinking that if the tyres are 205/60/15 at the moment...That you can look for different numbers on the tyres apart from the 15(I know that is the size of the alloys). Sooo, for example, I could buy 195/55/15 and they would fit onto these alloys no problem? @ Ash - Dood, I don't ...

Re: Lowering a 9n3 on 17" Alloys.
Lol, I am also very interested in this thread. Not to hijack it or anything, but I am wanting to lower my polo eventually - but not by too much. I was thinking more along the lines of 10-15mm and I have 15" alloys. I am also wondering what is the best way of lowering. I think I am looking for s...

Re: Black Grill and Boot Badge
You can get them from ebay all the time - silver and black ones, although silver is more common. You could buy one of them and paint it yourself? I'm sure I've measured my grill badge and it's about 13cm across, whereas the rear badge is 10cm.

Re: Projector Fog Lights
Alright, sounds like a plan! I've found this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-MK4-4-Passat-Polo-Headlight-Fog-Lights-Switch-/130440788147?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e5ee078b3 It says it fits a polo 9n but it looks preeetty similar to the one in my car. Or there's this - http:/...
