Re: Snapped chassis?

Could your recent accident have caused this? Any other damage apart from the front bumper?

Re: Advice Needed

Similar to mine, and it bogs down momentarily if you don’t give it enough revs. A bit of a balancing act 😉

Re: Awful DSG Gearbox!

Hope you get some joy from the specialist.

Still got your iQ David? You helped me out on a couple of occasions and provided a brighter internal LED assembly. We've still got ours  along with a Polo R-Line (manual).

Best of luck with the Polo.

Re: Paint protection

Had mine machine polished at Deluxe Detailing (to remove swirls and marring) and then coated with IGL Quartz (ceramic) which adds a hard protective layer to the paintwork and provides amazing shine. Better than when new. Water beads off and dirt is easy to remove. Good for at least 2 years protectio...

Re: Debadging question (holes)

I've had mine removed by Deluxe Detailing. All held on by adhesive. Remove by dragging a thread behind each letter to cut through the adhesive. Then some solvent (to remove remaining adhesive), followed by polishing to blend in the paintwork and to remove any witness marks from the badges. IMG_0210....

Re: OEM cruise control.

Further to EDI GTI's reply, which is exactly as mine behaves, you will find that the cruise control disengages if you keep your foot on the clutch for around 5secs. So if you press the clutch to slow down gradually (without using the foot brake), then take your foot off the clutch, the car will pick...

Re: Fogging up

Yup, caused by simple physics. It's bound to happen when conditions such as RUM4MO's explained prevail. I seem to recall that VW recommend that when jumping into the car when the interior's cooled down quite a bit by icy weather, especially the inside surface of the windscreen, you DO NOT put the A...

Re: Covering shiny bits on dashboard and steering wheel

Are the shiny bits of trim really so distracting? I don’t find them an issue at all, and I like the illusion of quality they impart compared with a dull plastic finish.

Each to their own I guess !!

I'd be interested if you progress this. Would you be fitting yourself or using a local expert in car upholstery?

Re: New car, few questions

Hi and welcome

I have 2016 1.2Tsi and notice the same behaviour when starting from rest. I can only assume it’s standard for these engines. Can’t say I’m too happy either, but I get clean getaways by slipping the clutch a touch longer while I get the revs where they need to be.

Re: A coolant drain tap on the 6C/6R Polos?

If yours is a post 2014 model then it will likely be a 6C (it's best to be specific as to which version you have when posting with queries so answers are relevant).

Re: Unlocking doors

But you said "....... security and deadlocks, ie. you've locked the vehicle without Safelock" . Unless you meant "locked from the outside", that can't be the case, can it, as I was able to open the doors from my seated position? I guess you meant to say "If you press the Lock button twice while you...

Re: Unlocking doors

Sit inside the car and press the lock button twice. If you can open a door using the internal handle then you have verified that 2 presses of the fob deactivates internal security and deadlocks (i.e. you have locked the vehicle without SAFELOCK). If you can't open the doors with the internal handles...

Re: Unlocking doors

Locking - One press will lock everything no matter how your system is encoded

Unlocking - In your case, the coding seems such that, upon unlocking, one press unlocks the driver's door only and two presses unlocks all doors and tailgate
