Re: 18 plate polo with no problems to date!
I was unhappy with the factory fitted tyres, and I was ready to change them at the first sign of letting me down. However I have to say the tyres as fitted have proved fine from a safety point of view, I have never for a split second felt them less than capable. Had I done so I would have changed t...

Re: TYRE SIZE CHANGE
Have you first tried dropping the tyre pressures say 4 PSI? That should improve ride comfort. In warm Cyprus especially the tyres will heat up and pressures will increase as car is driven.

Yeah, they are a single coil, i checked. I Reset the adaptions and it still does it, so that was not it. Its pretty bad now, anything more than say 30% throttle under 3k and it throw a fit. Checked vagcom again today, no misfires being reported, nothing. Very annoying. Is there a way to check the c...

Re: Polo 6R to Mk7.5 Tsi Evo R-Line
Have you given it a thorough test drive? If you have and you’re happy with it then no problem. I’d test low speed stop/start driving in particular as the ‘kangarooing’ issue shows up most then. Perhaps get the dealer to give you a written guarantee that if the issue occurs you can reject the car for...

Re: Polo 6R to Mk7.5 Tsi Evo R-Line
VW have recently admitted there’s an issue with the 1.5 Evo engine in case you’re not aware. Hopefully a software fix is on the way.

Check your engine mounts too maybe if it’s a shunting/knocking noise under acceleration/gear changes.
I fixed a Hyundai i10 recently which had this and it was just the lower engine/gearbox mount loose.

In that case have you checked the coil pack? Does it have 4 x coil over plug or 1 coil pack?
I had a similar issue on our Golf 2.0 Mk4. I checked the engine at night, spraying some water on the coil pack and saw sparking as it was cracked. Changed it and fixed the problem.

Re: 1.2tsi shudder/cough/stumble under acceleration, help :)
Could be a camchain or tensioner problem. I think 2010 1.2 TSI had camchains and at 120k miles I’d have it checked. VW had quality issues with a batch of chains that were wearing prematurely. I think they also had design issues with the tensioner. Correct... I have had mine changed (twice actually)...

Re: Anyone else noticed poor footwell heat level?
My Polo 6C has Climate, so I can’t check this for you. What I will say is mine works well. When in Auto mode, it directs hot air to the footwell vents and cooler air to the face vents, which is great. We used to have an old 80s Passat GL5 which had manual heating controls which directed hot airflow ...

Re: New GTI
Can anyone recommend an LED bulb for the reversing light? A quality one that is CANBUS compatible and doesn’t trip any warning lights? The standard filament bulb is too dim. I’ve been looking at an Osram premium LED one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OSRAM-ALL-12v-LED-Interior-Bulbs-C5W-P21W-P21-5W-T4W...

Also for information the 1.4 TSI used in the Polo GT is being replaced soon by a 1.5 TSI.
The troublesome 7 speed dry clutch DSG gearbox is also being dropped for a redesigned wet clutch unit.

Re: 2016 GTI LED FOG LIGHT BULBS
I've now fitted some of these bulbs to my 6C Polo GTI here in the UK (bought from a different seller). Like yourself I'm very pleased with them so far. Much brighter than the standard yellowy Osram H8 filament bulbs and the colour temperature is a close match to the LED headlights (although the hea...
