Re: Facelift Polo 6R spotted.
Do you have a CR TDI vc-10? What figures are you getting out of it? I'm not sure what the book figures are for the 1.4 PD, but I recall ~49 MPG town, ~72 MPG highway and ~61 combined. My overall combined consumption according to the trip computer (which is dead accurate if not slightly pessimistic i...

Re: Facelift Polo 6R spotted.
Too early to tell about the headlights. And rewiring for DRLs is piece of cake. There's already an output on the stock headlight switch (it's been this way for over 10 years) for DRLs Yup- but if you live in the countryside, or drive on the motorway a lot, then the TDI makes sense. Anyway, I went on...

Re: Facelift Polo 6R spotted.
None of the new TDIs (or other manufacturers' diesels for that matter) will be good for city driving as they all have to have DPFs to comply with emission regulations. Kinda makes sense bringing out a petrol Bluemotion in this regard. The 1.6 CR and 1.2 CR engine internals weren't as strong as the 2...

Re: Thinking of selling up, one of those "what's it worth" p
Well there's a total of seven 3 door 9ns 1.4 TDIs on Autotrader with under 80k, none of them sports, ranging from £2.5k for a poverty spec '02 S with 77k to £3.8k for a '54 SE with 58k. Before I had a look, I was thinking about £3.2k for a '53 Sport with 67k. Don't know whether that sounds reasonabl...

Re: Polo 6R - Useful Part Numbers
No they don't. The R-Line bumper is ALOT different from the GTI even though it is based in the GTI bumper. Tf you see an R-Line bumper you can see that is lower and has a spoiler build in in the middle of the bumper. I have the latest version of ETKA myself. But I asked for a mate who found out the...

Re: Polo 6R - Useful Part Numbers
Can anyone help me with a part number for the front spoiler on the R-Line Bumper? According to ETKA, Bluemotion, GTI and R-Line share the same front splitter - 6R0 071609 GRU Part number for GTI steering wheel without buttons? :) Ta! ETKA only lists this for a tiptronic car, so not sure about compa...

I'm still undecided David. I think I've just gotten slightly bored after six years! Seeing as it's still relatively standard (even the wheels!), playing about with it might rekindle some interest. Always been meaning to do an engine build which would end up doubling stock power and cost maybe £500 i...

Re: Approved Accessories Questions
Depends on the particular insurance provider. Some of them won't touch modified cars at all. At the other extreme, there are insurance who specialise in modified cars, but won't be able to insure it if it "isn't modified enough". And modified car insurance needn't be too expensive. The dif...

Re: Approved Accessories Questions
I'd imagine the springs to be about 30 - 35 mm lower than standard (slightly less if lowered from the factory depending on trim). Similar springs were available for he 9n which turned out to be exactly the same as the Eibach Pro Kit, but painted in blue with VW part numbers - probably cheaper to buy...

Re: Buyer beware
I hate DPFs with a vengeance. I love my 9n 1.4 TDI in that regard. Less to go wrong, plus it seems to be getting better MPG the more miles I put on it!

Re: Major problems costing alot of cash, any help?
How long after the wing replacement did these symptoms start showing? One of my wings had a chip in the wheel arch which resulted in bubbling and surface rust. Got this replaced with a mint used OE wing that was resprayed in the colour of my car. This was back in August. All seems fine, but this pos...

Re: Buyer beware
The 1.2 TDI is basically a 3 cylinder 1.6 TDI. It is what the old 1.4 PD was to the 1.9 PD TDI. Not sure how it's better per se. It produces the same power as the lowest output 1.6, but is 15 bhp down on the unit found in the SEL. You can't remap them either, whilst all the 1.6 TDIs remap to over 14...
