Re: Using Oil!

I checked mine today and at 4000kms, oil level has seemingly settled. Last check was at 2500kms and it doesn't look as if the oil has dropped at all. Perhaps it has to do with the type of oil also, mate here is running LiquiMoly in his GTI and since a top-up at 2000kms, it hasn't used a drop since....

Re: Stretch tyres and lowering

Yup rolling radius of the overall tyre is key to ensuring that the gearing and speedo stay within a reasonable %. I looked at fitting 18's to my Polo and worked out that 215/35 18's were within 3% of the standard 215/40 17's. As my speedo in standard trim over reads by about 5% fitting the larger wh...

Re: Which fuel?

Ad say it depends what polo u have for example u will not really be able to tell in mine (1.2 70bhp moda) but if u have a 1.4 180bhp gti I think that's wen u be able tell the difference I have a 1.2 TSi (105 bhp) I've looked through the owners manual but the information on which fuel to use is very...

Re: Using Oil!

Took car in to vw today. they have topped it up with about 800 mils of oil for another 500 mile test. Considering i only put a litre in it on saturday and the car has only done 1300 miles since the oil scraper rings were replaced. 350 of those since saturday. they said once they get the reading the...

Re: Suspension Noise

Completely normal matey. My GTI makes exactly the same noise. They are gas filled shockers rather than oil. :D Wish that's the only noise i did hear though. I have a very annoying clunking noise from the rear of my car and two VW dealerships have failed to fix it. Sorry to hijack you your thread ma...

Re: Miles to a Full Tank

Definatley, I have a 1.2 TSi and on a combined cycle i'm averaging about 48 but I do tend to give it some stick every so often :D So for a GTi to produce those figures I think is amazing! according to my trip im lucky to get into the 40s its normally 37+ in auto be intresting to see how much effect...

Re: No MPG on display?

Can you get the average or current MPG to display on a Polo 1.4 SE? Or do you need to have the full 'MFD' Multi Function Display or whatever it's called? I've seen video's on youtube with the current MPG being displayed but I can't find it for the life of me on my car The Midline MFD has fuel consu...

Re: Miles to a Full Tank

It's a fine line between performance and economy, you need to remember you've opted for a high performance car. The MPG figures, to say it performs as it does are very very good. There aren't many cars out there that perform the same as a Polo 6R GTI and have the same or even similar mpg figures wi...

Re: Using Oil!

Update Car has now done a 1000 miles since the Part Upgrade / Engine Rebuild. And the oil light came on. so topped it us it took a full litre and only went to the middle of the dipstick. I think this is going to be one of those cars that will keep the oil companies very happy for a long long time. ...

Re: Polo GTI Order Date V.S Build Week

When I ordered my in June 10 there was no confirmed build date only had an estimated delivery date of December. Mine arrived in November but some of the others had to wait longer. At the time it was blamed on DSG production so nothing has changed in a year :( It could be down to engines too as most ...
